[Toyota city] New Kitchen w/e, a Dining Bar that Pursues Unconventional Freedom and Novelty

New Kitchen w/e is located almost halfway between Toyotashi Station and Toyota Municipal Museum of Art. Since opening in December 2020, it has been a popular dining bar among many women.

In addition to the stylish interior and logo design, the restaurant's appeal is the creative cuisine that incorporates the essence of Japanese and Chinese cuisine based on Italian cuisine. We will introduce in detail about New Kitchen w/e's store and commitment to cooking.

Inside the store that makes use of Toyota's timber
A space with a different taste spreads out

The interior of New Kitchen w/e has a rugged look with mortar walls and exposed piping, but the use of wood for the counter and chairs creates a somewhat relaxing atmosphere. In fact, the single plank of wood used for the counter and chairs is from Toyota City. The restaurant is rooted in the local community, incorporating local production for local consumption.

In addition, the taste of the store changes completely depending on the location, and it is also characterized by being able to spend time as you like in your favorite space.

The sofa seats under the stairs are like a secret base. Even if you have a problem or something that is difficult to talk about, you can calmly talk about it here.

Up the stairs above the sofa seating, the second floor is also a seating floor. The space is adorable with chandelier-like lighting and pink air conditioners. The mannequins, paintings, window sundries, and neon lights also add a playful touch to the interior.

Terrace seats are also recommended on warm sunny days.

You can also have a bonfire in the center of the wooden deck, so it's nice to enjoy delicious sake and food while watching the flickering flames at night.

The public bar building has been renewed!
Make a fresh start with a new style

New Kitchen w/e

The building of New Kitchen w/e was originally run as a public bar. Due to the influence of the COVID-19, they changed the style of the shop and reopened in December 2020.

The name of the restaurant, "New Kitchen," expresses our desire to do something new and innovative, unconventional. The word "w/e" is a slang abbreviation of the English word WhatEver, meaning "anything goes". The name of the former popular bar was "ee-jana-nai-ka" (meaning "it's ok"), which is why it was incorporated into the new restaurant as well.

The symbol mark, which illuminates the interior of the store in bright pink, is a stroke design of a man and a woman enjoying a drink in good humor. The colors and atmosphere perfectly match the mortar and wood-based atmosphere of the store.

They also sell original goods such as T-shirts, stickers, and key chains designed with stylish logos and marks.

Enjoy creative cuisine based on authentic Italian cuisine

The main attraction of New Kitchen w/e is its unique and creative cuisine based on Italian cuisine with Chinese and Japanese essence. All of the dishes prepared by our skilled chefs, who have been trained in Italy for many years, are exquisite. Cheeses, cured meats such as ham and salami, salt, and herbs are all imported from Italy.

Dinner is available not only as a course, but also a la carte, so please taste the dishes you are interested in!

Lunch is also recommended

Lunch menu (chicken) 1,300 yen (tax included)

New Kitchen w/e is open for lunch only on Saturdays and Sundays. For the main dish, you can choose from chicken, fish (+100 yen), or beef (+200 yen).

The appetizers are a little bit on one plate, with a variety of quantities to enjoy and a good volume! On this day, we had prosciutto ham, anchovy cabbage, carrot salad, smoked oysters, boiled egg with mayonnaise sauce, and gorgonzola mousse.

chicken fricassee

The main dish of chicken is called "fricassee," a French home-style dish in which chicken is baked and then braised in fresh cream to tender perfection. The gentle flavor is accented with salt and pepper, bringing out the umami of the chicken.

Ingredients used at New Kitchen w/e are carefully selected from vegetables grown in Toyota, with an emphasis on local production for local consumption. The main dish menu and cooking methods change depending on the ingredients available that day, and sometimes gibier is served instead of beef. You will want to visit again and again because you can enjoy a different dish each time you visit.

Trying the Phantom Brewery style, which is rare in Japan!

Craft beer is one of the features of New Kitchen w/e. Groovy Horn's Brand New Ale is available on draft at this restaurant. However, this beer is made in the "Phantom Brewery" style and is rare, so it is currently sold out.

Phantom Brewery does not own its own brewery, but rather outsources to breweries to produce its own beer. There are still few examples of this in Japan, and it was new challenge for New Kitchen w/e.

The new beer after Groovy Horn is still in the project stage, but new releases may be available next spring and summer.

In addition to Groovy Horn beer, New Kitchen w/e also handles craft beer imported from overseas. If you are interested, please check it out.
