Sonohi Gurashi Nekogahora branch opened in 2016 as a specialty store for dried flowers, which is rare in the Tokai area. The store doubles as a workshop, and approximately 90% of the dried flowers sold are made in the store. Dried flowers can be purchased from a single piece and can be arranged into bouquets and hair ornaments. You will be enchanted by the vividness of the dried flowers, which is hard to believe that they are dried flowers.

ー First of all, please tell us about the history of the shop.

Mr. Suzuoka:"It all started about five and a half years ago when I opened a candle store "Sonohi Gurashi" in Shinsakae. I have been making candles as a hobby since I was an office worker. The name "Sonohi Gurashi" also came from that time. I came up with the idea with my friends at the time, and we liked the way it sounded.

Ms. Suzuoka:"I was attracted to dried flowers as I used them as materials for candles," he said. "Unlike fresh flowers, dried flowers can be displayed for a long time without the worry of withering. And since they don't need water, they can be used in vases, swags, wreaths, and many other arrangements."
