"Atsuta Jingu Shrine", Nagoya's Representative Power Spot

Atsuta Jingu, located in Atsuta Ward, Nagoya City, is an ancient shrine that has been in existence for over 1,900 years and is affectionately known as "Atsuta-san" by the local people. The Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Sword of Kusanagi), one of the three sacred weapons, is enshrined as the sacred body of the shrine, making it one of Nagoya's most famous power spots.

Atsuta Jingu is also said to be a shrine for improving one's luck in love, as it enshrines the deity Yamatotakeru-no-Mikoto and his consort Miyazuhime!

One of the most popular amulets is the "Shirotori-mamori" (swan protection). It is said that one of the deities of the shrine, Yamatotakeru-no-mikoto, turned into a swan and flew into the sky when he passed away. In honor of this legend, the "Shirotori Mamori" is in the shape of a lovely swan. It is also called "Ai-mamori" (love protection) and is said to bring good luck, matchmaking, and easy childbirth.

Whether you have been there before or not, please visit Atsuta Jingu Shrine, as it has many undiscovered charms.

A Must Visit in the Year of Rabbit! "Miwa Shrine"

Osu Shopping Street is one of Nagoya's tourist attractions. Located in one corner is Miwa Shrine, a shrine where the god of marriage is said to reside. Although it is a small shrine, many people visit every day, including women who come for the cute red ink stamps and those who come to pray for marriage.

Recommended for those who wish for a good marriage is the Kusunoki tree, estimated to be 450 years old, which stands between the main hall and the Yaba site. It is said that if you place your hand on this tree and pray for good karma, you will receive only good karma.

There are always 5 to 6 types of red seals available, with limited editions for each season and month. Prices range from 300 yen to 1,000 yen, depending on the design. Basically, you can choose a red seal from those posted in the shrine office, but there are also special birthday designs available only for people in their birthday month!
