In July 2020, A book cafe "CENTER" was born in Shinsakae, a town where various cultures are mixed. More than 2,000 books are lined up in the cafe, so you can read with a cup of coffee or buy your favorite book. It is a spacious place where you can immerse yourself in your favorite book.

CENTER is located about 3 minutes from Shinei Station on Nagoya Municipal Subway Shin-Sakae Line. It is located on the 1st floor of the east building of the Unryu Flex Building.

The bookshelf at the front of the store is lined with books that stimulate intellectual curiosity, "I want to know more, I want to learn more," with the theme of supporting each person's transformation.

Free WiFi and power supply seating are available, making it a great place to bring your computer and work! A comfortable space for visitors to work or study at the open counter seats, or relax and read their favorite books on the sofa seats equipped with side tables.
Of course, it is also recommended for a shot break while you are at work or while waiting.
We want to create a place that supports the transformation of each individual.

The owner, Mr. Nakamura, who is qualified as a small and medium enterprise consultant, has worked on the selection of over 2,000 books. After managing a tax accountant corporation and a major restaurant chain, he opened CENTER.
First, we asked about the reason for the opening and the commitment to the selection of books.
Mr. Nakamura: "I have always loved to read, so I wanted to do something related to books. Also, as a small and medium business consultant, I supported people who start their own businesses, and I used to work in business management at a restaurant chain, so I wanted to create a place where I could support people who are taking on challenges and growing.
Since this is a place where many people read books, many people who work on their computers also use it because it is a quiet space where they can relax. I think there are many times when people feel stuck in their work or studies and are helped or inspired by a book they picked up on a whim. I would be happy if this place could support people who are working hard."

Mr. Nakamura: "In terms of book selection, I focus on non-fiction books because I want to help people achieve self-realization and change. I select a wide range of genres, such as memoirs, essays, business books, and history to avoid bias.
All of the books are books that I have been influenced by or that I want to read, so I can recommend them with confidence. ”

I wanted to read this book because I chose books so that I wouldn't become too maniac, and it would be a good opportunity to become familiar with books! There are books in the middle.
Introducing recommended books!

This time, Mr. Nakamura specially selected books from the bookshelf under the theme of "books that I want to read because of this era"!
First of all, I would like to introduce Yoshimichi Nakajima's "Dislike people". As the title suggests, this book is about "disliking people".
To dislike people, to be disliked by people is a natural thing, just like having someone you like. This book questions such "common sense" and preaches that facing "dislikes" firmly will enrich your life. Reading this book may change the way you look at the feeling of "hate".

The Longest Day in Japan: The Fated August 15th is a Japanese non-fiction book by Kazutoshi Hando. This book depicts about 24 hours from the end of the war by the Showa emperor's "imperial decision" until the "Gyokuon Broadcast" is played. It is a book that I would like you to read by all means so that the memory of the war does not fade.

“Now is the time to learn from Keynes and Schumpeter.” Keynes, who preached the importance of effective demand during a recession, and Schumpeter, who declared that innovation is the driving force of capitalism. Following in the footsteps of two giants of economics, the vision is explained in an easy-to-understand manner.
This is a reference book for thinking about modern corporate activities in this corona misfortune.

The autobiography "Grinding It Out: The Making of McDonald's" written by the author who turned McDonald's into a franchise, is said to have had a great influence on Mr. Nakamura. This book allows you to decipher his life and learn his maxims and management philosophy, including the secrets of sales, the franchise system, how to create hit products, and the system to prepare employees for immediate success.

Lastly, we would like to introduce Taro Okamoto's "Have Poison Inside Yourself. In this book, Taro Okamoto explains how to live a life that is always full of excitement and joy by putting aside the "common sense man," learning how to love and be loved in order to grasp the true partner, and how to capture yourself in a joyful and delightful way.
Taro Okamoto's powerful words are a great encouragement to those who are troubled or unsatisfied with their current situation. This is a book that will give you courage when you read it.
We asked Ms. Nakamura to choose books that he would like to read in these times. You can check out their books on Instagram and you can also purchase the books you like.
