"CHOCOLATERIE TAKASU" is a shop specializing in hand-made chocolates, located right next to Exit 2A of Hisaya Odori Station Nagoya Municipal Subway Meijo Line and Sakuradori Line.
This time, we asked chef patissier Satoshi Takasu about the products and the store's specialties.
What is CHOCOLATERIE TAKASU?
Deep green outer wall and chocolate color tent. Expectations are high for the entrance, which is reminiscent of an overseas street corner.
As soon as you step inside, the scent of chocolate hits you. The deep inside of the store has a stately structure that makes you feel the warmth of wood.
The main showcase seems to say, "The products are the stars". The showcase, with its rounded, somewhat familiar lamps, is filled with so many products that you can't help but want to take a peek.
A display of bite-sized chocolate “Bonbon Chocolat” that shines like jewels. There are always about 20 kinds of lineups.
The true value of Chef Takasu is to use basic colors and shapes to bring out the charm of chocolate to the fullest.
It is so hard to choose just one of these cakes that it is hard to keep your eyes open. From classic combinations to Chef Takasu's unique and innovative recipes, you will want to come back again and again to learn all about them.
Tea time in an extraordinary space
The Nagoya store that we visited this time has 6 table seats and sofa seats, so you can enjoy cakes and drinks in the store.
The tea space is one step up from the sales floor, with a solid, beamed ceiling that evokes a cozy attic-like space. Adjacent to the kitchen, visitors can watch chocolate being made when the timing is right.
The cake has a beautiful roasted white chocolate coating! It is almost too good to eat. One bite is an exquisite combination of sour passion and gently sweet chocolate. It is so delicious that you can't help but "smile" at the corners of your mouth.
Truffle is a dish with a strong vanilla scent, and the deliciousness melts with your body temperature.
