Maker's Pier

Maker's Pier

Makers Pier is a commercial facility themed around "manufacturing" located in Kinjo Pier, Minato-ku, Nagoya City. Under the concept of "Makertainment," a coined word combining the words "Make" and "Entertainment," the facility is divided into three areas: "Forest Garden," which is centered on hands-on facilities; "Central Park," which is lined with restaurants; and "Uptown," which is centered on general merchandise and accessory stores.

Maker's Pier

Inside the facility, there are attractive shops with the theme of manufacturing.

Maker's Pier

The slide that connects to the middle of the "Circular Slope" at the entrance to Maker's Pier is a very popular spot! Anyone under the age of 12 will enjoy it.

Maker's Pier

Since Maker's Pier is adjacent to Legoland, the facility is also connected to the Legoland gate.

Sound and light fountain show

"Central Park" is located in the middle of Makers Pier. Here, a powerful fountain show, reaching 10 meters high, is held every hour from 10:00 to 21:00.

Illuminated at night

It is also lit up at night, and the fountain show where light, music and water are united is a masterpiece! On sunny days, you can relax on the lawn square and spend a fantastic time at night.

Lots of photo spots!

Try making a glass stamp at "Maker's Labo"!

Maker's Pier

The first place I visited was "Maker's Labo" which just opened on March 20th this year. Here, full-fledged manufacturing experiences such as stained glass experience and electric potter's wheel experience are provided on a daily basis.

Maker's Pier

This time, we tried our hand at making a glass stamp. Ms. Yuko Matsushita, a glass artist, taught the class.

Maker's Pier

First, choose one of the glass stamps made by Mr. Matsushita. The price is 3,500 yen for small and 4,000 yen for large. All of them are wonderful and it was hard to choose.

Maker's Pier

After much deliberation, we chose this design!

Once you've decided on the design of your stamp, it's time to start making your stamp!

Mr. Matsushita: "First of all, please make a draft of what kind of design you want to make according to the size of the stamp! You can draw a picture you like, or you can design and draw your name."

Maker's Pier

What should we draw? We came up with several design ideas, referring to the works created by other customers.

Maker's Pier

Here is a self portrait. It turned out to be quite surreal (laughs).

Maker's Pier

Once you've decided on the design, wrap masking tape around the glass so it doesn't get scratched.

Maker's Pier

Once it is tightly wrapped, a special sheet with the pattern printed on it is attached to the glass. Once the preparations are complete, the staff will finish the stamp with the machine Mr. Matsushita uses to cut the glass.

Maker's Pier

We are very much looking forward to seeing how it will turn out!

Maker's Pier

It looks like the grinding is finished! Wow! The drawing has become a stamp as it is.

Maker's Pier

Remove the masking tape and you're done!

Maker's Pier

The finished stamp will be placed on the bookmark! We wonder if it's done well. ......

Maker's Pier

Well then! Here is the finished stamp! We are very impressed with the beautifully finished product. It only takes about 30 minutes to make your own original stamp, which is a very exciting experience.

This stamp will be used in various situations in the future.

Maker's Pier

Thank you Mr. Matsushita! Maker's Labo offers 10 other experiences. (Reservations are required for various hands-on classes) Please join the hands-on class that interests you and experience full-fledged manufacturing.

When it comes to Marino, you can't miss the pizza! We recommend the "Quattro Pizza" (four popular types of pizza) for those who want to try all of them!

At Marino, pizza craftsmen make each pizza in the store and bake it in an authentic stone kiln. The result is a pizza that is fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

In addition, Marino has a hot iron plate on each table to warm up the pizza because we want you to eat it piping hot until the end.
