On March 31, 2022, a new commercial facility, Maruei Galleria, opened on the site of the former Maruei Department Store.

Thirty-six stores will be opened under the theme of daily life and food, including restaurants, side dishes, and general merchandise, such as "MUJI", the largest in Nagoya City, Maruei's new restaurant "KW THE KITCHEN WONDERLAND", and "Pantry", a natural supermarket opening for the first time in the Tokai area.

The first phase of the opening will feature a food area on the first floor and a MUJI store on the second floor. The second phase will include a restaurant and food hall zone on the third floor.

The location is a 4-minute walk from Sakae Station on the Higashiyama and Meijo subway lines. It is just off exit S8 of Sakaechika. It has excellent access.

The Maruei Department Store has been a favorite for 75 years since 1943. The name "Maruei Galleria" was chosen to reflect the desire of local residents to preserve the Maruei name. "Galleria" means a roofed shopping street in Italian.
