The world is watching! VERMICULAR VILLAGE, an interactive complex by Vermicular, a cast-iron enameled cookware brand that is the pride of Nagoya, Japan.

Introduced here is VERMICULAR VILLAGE, an experiential complex that was established in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya in 2019.

Based on the theme of "the best Vermicular experience", this is a complex facility where you can experience Vermicular, a casting enamel cooker brand famous for its stylish design and outstanding functionality, in various ways.

What is Vermicular?

Vermicular is a casting enamel cooker brand produced by Aichi Dobby Co., Ltd., a casting manufacturer in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.

Cast iron enamel pots, which are made one by one by craftsmen, are attractive for their high airtightness. Vermicular products, which are active in various cooking scenes, including waterless cooking, are attracting attention from all over the world.

The location is about 5 minutes by car from Nagoya Station / Taiko Dori Exit. It is located along the Nakagawa Canal.

The facilities are divided into a "Dine Area" and a "Studio Area," and visitors can enjoy the world of Vermicular to the fullest while moving between the two differently themed facilities.

The “Dine Area” is an area where you can experience the world of Vermicular food.

There are two restaurants here: the village's main dining room "VERMICULAR RESTAURANT THE FOUNDRY" and the bakery cafe "VERMICULAR POT MADE BAKERY".

You can actually taste delicious gourmet food prepared using vermicular products!

At the main dining room "VERMICULAR RESTAURANT THE FOUNDRY", you can enjoy authentic vermicula cuisine.

There is also a stylish private room space in the back of the store.

The interior of the restaurant is spacious and open. The interior is also carefully designed to express the world view of Vermicula. The interior, with Vermicula's sense of style in many places, is a pleasure to look at.

There is a large flower arrangement on the bar counter! The seasonal flowers and greenery brighten up the store.

At the terrace seats, you can enjoy your meal while gazing at the flickering Nakagawa Canal. You can spend an elegant time like no other, enjoying delicious food on a wooden table and soft comfortable chairs!

On the terrace, there is also a comfortable sofa seat for children!

The biggest attraction of "VERMICULAR RESTAURANT THE FOUNDRY" is the authentic vermicular cuisine that brings out the original taste of the ingredients, and the wood-fired oven cuisine that features fragrant aroma and deep flavor.

By using vermicular, the original taste and flavor of the ingredients are not lost, and the dish is full of umami.

And from July 2021, the restaurant's dinner menu has been renewed!

Unlike previous course meals, the restaurant has been transformed into an a la carte style, serving platters and entire vermicula pots. Now you can enjoy sharing dishes with family, friends, and lovers in a more casual atmosphere.

Here are two recommended items from the a la carte menu!

・Fire-roasted duck breast cooked at a low temperature in a rice pot
・Anhydrous cooked carrot and orange puree
・New Burdock and Nepalese Pepper Sauce

The beautiful visuals of this menu are eye-catching.

Roasted in a wood-fired oven, the duck meat is just delicious and aromatic! And above all, you will be surprised at how tender it is. When combined with carrot and orange purée and vegetables, the deep flavor of the duck meat, the fresh taste of the purée and vegetables, and the tangy spice of Nepalese pepper blend together to create an artful taste experience.

・Freshly cooked rice in rice pot  (softly stewed beef tendon, Manganji pepper, new burdock root) 1 go (2 servings)

Seasonal rice cooked in a Vermicular rice pot is so delicious that the more you chew the rice, the more you taste the true flavor of the rice. The seasonal ingredients are used, and the gentle flavor makes it a perfect ending to a meal. It is exciting to see a Vermicular pot brought straight to the table!

At the chef's table on the 2nd floor of the restaurant, shaved ice will be served during the summer only (July 8, 2021 to August 31, 2021)!

Shaved ice topped with azuki beans and fruit confiture cooked in vermicular makes a great visual impact. The cold-retaining properties of the vermicular keep the ice from melting, ensuring that the shaved ice tastes great right up to the end.

VERMICULAR POT MADE BAKERY

The good smell of wheat led me to the bakery shop "VERMICULAR POT MADE BAKERY".

All of our breads are baked using bakery-grade vermicular.

There is also a mold for loaf of bread.

Baked with vermicular, the inside is moist and the outside is crisp and sweet.

By baking with a mini skillet, the dough is crispy and round, which is rare for croissants!

The breads lined up in the showcase are all the same size and look cute.

In June 2021, a dedicated bakery workshop, BAKE LABORATORY, was built, and the product lineup has more than doubled! Now you can enjoy more bread.

Introducing the highly recommended bread of "VERMICULAR POT MADE BAKERY" that has evolved like that!

・ Vermicular red bean paste bread 760 yen (tax included)

It uses homemade red bean paste made in vermicular for about 3 hours. If you look at the cross section, you can see that there is a lot of bean paste in it like drawing a beautiful swirl. Lightly toasted and topped with butter, the slightly sweet bean paste and fluffy bread create the perfect harmony.

It can also be a great souvenir item!

・Kiwi Danish 380 yen (tax included)

A Danish pastry baked with the newly developed "Vermicular Mini Skillet" topped with kiwi. Custard cream is contained in the crispy Danish dough. The combination of fresh kiwi and lemon confiture is delicious enough to make you smile. It's also perfect for lunch and tea time dessert!

When you go up to the second floor, there is an eat-in space. Like the restaurant, there are terrace seats where you can see the Nakagawa Canal. On a sunny day, it's the perfect location to enjoy delicious bread while feeling the breeze outside!

The bakery cafe has a full menu other than bread. As for drinks, in addition to the standard coffee and tea, they also sell special drinks that bring out the original taste of the ingredients with vermicular. There is also a set menu of vermicular seafood curry and pot-made potato focaccia that is perfect for lunch.
