Not only can you see cows, goats, rabbits, and mini pigs up close, but there is also an observatory, a lawn area, and a promenade, so you can feel the tranquil nature. It is also a recommended place for a walk or a picnic while being healed by the scenery of the forest, the clean air, and the scent of the forest.

What is Yokkaichi City Fureai Farm?

Yokkaichi City Fureai Farm, located in the Suizawa district of Mie Prefecture, which is a tea producing area, was originally a farm directly managed by Yokkaichi City to raise and increase the number of dairy cows. It was renovated in 1997 to become a place of relaxation where citizens can interact with dairy cows and rich nature.

The farm is open all year round and admission is free, so you can easily go out.

Exciting Feeding Experience for Animals Seen Up Close

You can experience the feeding to goats. They had a gentle face and was very laid back.

"Yokkaichi City Fureai Farm" has an overwhelmingly "homely" feel. You can find handmade signs filled with love for animals everywhere.

The goat food (100 yen per cup), which is prepared from 9:00 to 10:00 every morning and is limited to 120 per day, is sold next to the shop.

A little nervous, I called out, "It's time to eat," and they slowly came close to me and ate skillfully through the gap in the fence.

Ponies can also be seen in the outdoor area.

Go to the barn with jersey cows, mini pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs and more.

The inside of the barn was kept clean, and the scent of grass was spreading. You can enter the barn as soon as the morning cleaning is over. *Please note that there are days which barn may not be open.

There are four Jersey cows in the barn. There are parents and children with similar patterns, so try to find out which cow is the parent and child!

This is the manager who looks at the animals with a lot of affection. It seems that only three staff members, including the manager, take care of the animals.

The current cows were born and raised here, so they are friendly and gentle. When they notice someone coming, they will peek at you.

There are goats in the barn, so feeding the animals is possible even in rainy weather.

It is said that the original pigs have a bit violent temper, but the mini pigs are said to be emotionally expressive and affectionate with people.

Rabbits with unique names named from seasonings and foods such as "Mirin" and "Miso".

A cute rabbit that looks like a stuffed animal. Unfortunately, contact experiences with other animals are currently closed. Future plans are undecided.

There is also a shop on the 1st floor of the management building, which is marked by a green roof. Dairy products such as fresh milk, yogurt, and ice cream are sold here.

It is closed during bad weather, so please contact the farm in case of light rain.

The Mizusawa area where Yokkaichi City Fureai Farm is located is located at the foot of the Suzuka Mountains, so it receives a lot of rainfall, making it an ideal location for tea production, and there are tea fields all around.

The most popular soft cream (380 yen). Sit on the terrace or on the lawn with a nice view and enjoy it.

The café au lait (300 yen) also uses pasteurized milk. By pasteurizing at low temperature, you can enjoy the original taste of milk.

You can buy fresh local dairy products, tea, cookies, and more, so it's recommended as a souvenir.

In front of the store, there are two car parks with wheelchair marks. There are many slopes, so this is convenient for those who are worried about walking.

The well-maintained washroom has a crib and diaper changing sheet, so it's safe for families with small children. Wheelchair-accessible washrooms are located in the administration building.

As you go up the promenade, there are comfortable rest spaces in various places. You can spread out a sheet on the lawn and have a picnic, or enjoy turf sliding.

A boardwalk encircling an area that was formerly used for grazing. You can take a walk with a little hiking feeling.

The observatory is a popular photo spot for families and couples. The view from the hill overlooking the tea plantation is outstanding.

There are 3 free parking lots, and there are plenty of spaces, so you don't have to worry about parking.
