⑰ Kankyo Zoukei Q “Water Square”
This is a work by the sculpture group Kankyo Zokei Q, consisting of Makio Yamaguchi, Masakazu Masuda, and Rikuichiro Kobayashi. In the center of the plaza, a stone was placed in a circular shape, and water began to flow as one approached the stone with a hole in it. This work won the first Nagoya City Landscape Grand Prize.
Government district area
Finally, we went to the government district area. We were a little worried wondering if there was public art in a place like this but started looking for artworks.
⑱ Takeshi Ishida “Foundation of Peace”
⑲ Kiyoshi Ishida “Flute of Peace”
We found two works along the way! Both are works with the theme of "peace".
Passing in front of the Sannomaru government building, finally to the last work in the Meijo Park area!
⑳ Jun Kaneko “Dango”
This is "Dango," a work by world-renowned artist Jun Kaneko. Kaneko's work is characterized by brightly colored stripes and dots. Since this work is also featured on the cover of the "Public Art Map, here is another shot from the same angle as the cover photo.
This is the end of Public Art Exploration Meijo Park Edition.
It was more enjoyable than we had imagined. It was amazing to see how much art there is in the landscapes we usually see. It is good that the spots are set up like a stamp rally, so you can enjoy walking while having fun.
The course we toured this time took about 2 to 2.5 hours. There are "tonarino" and "Kinshachi Alley" nearby, so it is recommended to take a break while touring. In the cooler season, you can have a picnic in Meijo Park. We hope you enjoy exploring public art!
