A Taiwanese cafe "Taipei's" - you can feel like you are on a stylish trip to Taiwan while staying in Nagoya!

Table of Contents
"Taiwan", easily accessible from Japan, is a country full of attractions that captivate visitors, such as cheap and delicious food and shopping.
“Taipei's” opened in Yabacho in April 2020 by the owner who was fascinated by Taiwan. It is currently attracting a lot of attention as a shop that conveys not only food but also Taiwanese culture.
Taipei's is on the west side of Nadia Park. A 10-minute walk from Yabacho Station on the Municipal Subway Meijo Line. A signboard with a comical character is a landmark!
Design with attention to detail
If you go ahead of the signboard, neon will welcome you.
Flower blocks, which are rarely seen in Japan, are used for the exterior. If you have been to Taiwan, you may have seen it. In order to make it more Taiwanese, it seems that even blocks were purchased.
Expectations rise from the entrance! I would love to go inside.
When I went inside, I wondered if this was Taiwan. The space is so full of Taiwanese feeling that you can't help but get an illusion.
The floral tiles are also very cute!
Most of the shop is DIY by the staff. All the floor tiles are also finished by the staff!
The attention to detail in the interior does not end there. In order to create a more Taiwanese atmosphere, the fixtures in the store, such as the tables, chairs, tableware and accessories used in the Taiwan night market, are all purchased locally.
Apparently, the neon signs were also created based on the design of the letters. Every detail is thoroughly taken care of! That's amazing lol
"I want to convey the good things I met in Taiwan."
I asked Mr. Ito, the owner, why he opened Taipei's.
Mr. Ito: "I've always loved traveling, but I was particularly drawn to Taiwan. As I go there more often, I want to open a restaurant that offers stylish and delicious Taiwanese cuisine and culture! That's why I decided to open Taipei's.
I used to be an apparel designer, but the other members of the group include store staff, chefs, bar owners, and various other creative people. Because we are such a group, we did most of the design and interior work ourselves.
It will be a Taiwanese café during the day and a Taiwanese izakaya where you can taste Taiwanese local beer and B-class gourmet food at night. We hope to make it a place where people can enjoy themselves day and night."
Mr. Ito: "At Taipei's, we would like to promote not only food, but also Taiwanese culture. Among them, this is the only place in Nagoya where you can buy items from the Taiwanese select store PAR STORE! We are also planning to add to our store's selection of locally purchased goods and apparels, so please look forward to it.
Not only can you use the cafe, but you can also just look at miscellaneous goods! I would be happy if you could drop by casually. ”
