愛知県蒲郡市の「形原温泉・あじさいの里」では、毎年6月の1カ月間にわたり「形原温泉あじさい祭り」が開催され、約5万株のあじさいが園内を彩ります。この祭りは、東海エリアを代表するあじさいの名所として知られ、毎年約10万人の来場者で賑わいます。

祭り期間中は蒲郡駅から会場までの直行バス「あじさい号」が運行され、アクセスも便利です。夜間運行は土曜・休日のみとなりますので、詳細は名鉄バスの公式情報をご確認ください。

さらに、祭り期間中は「日本のあじさい展」や観光写真コンテストなどのイベントも開催。運が良ければ、園内でゲンジボタルの舞う姿を見ることもでき、昼夜を問わず多彩な魅力を堪能できるイベントです。

One of the things to enjoy during the rainy season is hydrangeas. This time, I went to Katahara Onsen "Ajisai no Sato" in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, a famous hydrangea spot. Every year, for one month in June, the "Hydrangea Festival" is held amid 50,000 hydrangeas in full bloom. It is a very popular spot that attracts about 100,000 visitors. 【形原温泉 あじさい祭り】

愛知県西尾市から蒲郡市にかけて延びる全長5.1kmの有料道路「三ヶ根山スカイライン」は、初夏になると「あじさいライン」として親しまれます。6月から7月初旬にかけて、道路沿いには約7万本のあじさいが咲き誇り、訪れる人々を鮮やかに迎えてくれます。

三河湾の大パノラマを望みながら、色とりどりのあじさいに囲まれて楽しむドライブは、まさにこの時期だけの特別な体験。特に山頂周辺には、あじさいと海の絶景を一緒に収められるフォトスポットが点在しており、写真好きにも人気のスポットです。

毎年6月には「三ヶ根山あじさいまつり」が開催され、2025年は6月1日（日）から6月30日（月）まで開催予定です。期間中の6月21日（土）には、山頂駐車場で「三ヶ根山あじさいフェスティバル」が行われ、地元の特産品販売や抽選会、先着1,000名限定であじさいの鉢植え無料配布など、多彩なイベントが楽しめます。

ドライブの後には、近隣にある形原温泉の「あじさいの里」や、三河の“あじさい寺”として知られる幸田町の本光寺にも立ち寄って、あじさいの美しさをさらに堪能してみてはいかがでしょうか。

Where to see hydrangeas in Nagoya
"Hydrangea Promenade in Tsuruma Park" | Nagoya City

Tsuruma Park, Nagoya's representative comprehensive park located in Showa Ward, Nagoya City, is a popular spot for flowers such as cherry blossoms, roses, and irises, and is also loved by locals as a place to relax and enjoy sports and recreation with its lush greenery.

Tsuruma Park is surprisingly little known, but it is also a spot in Nagoya where you can enjoy hydrangeas.

At Arakogawa Park in Nagoya City's Nakagawa Ward, approximately 300 Western hydrangea "Annabelle" bloom in early summer. The Western hydrangea "Annabelle" can be enjoyed for a long time because of its characteristic color change from light green to white and back to light green at the beginning of blooming.

The 200 pure white Annabelle cherries that bloom in June are a popular spot at Arakogawa Park.

The last place we will introduce is Chayagasaka Park, the largest hydrangea garden in Nagoya City. Chikusa ward in which Chayagasaka Park is located has designated the hydrangea as its ward flower, and hydrangea planting is being promoted within Chikusa ward.

Among them, Chayagasaka Park has the largest number of hydrangeas planted, with over 5,000 hydrangeas. The footbridge connecting the north and south sides of the park is named "Ajisai (hydrangea) Bridge."

A famous hydrangea spot in Toyota City

Located in a mountain village east of the city and surrounded by rich nature, Matsudairago is the birthplace of the Matsudaira family, the roots of Tokugawa Family which ruled the Edo period.
