The cedar floor that shines like a temple, welcoming many visitors for 21 years.
Lighting that makes use of branches as they are, and textured plaster walls with a lot of straw mixed in.
On the terrace next to the hall, take a deep breath and relax while gazing at the beautiful greenery. You can also see the slopes that go up and down.
Materials familiar to us over the course of 21 years.
Climb the high staircase and go up to the second floor. The ceiling is a cedar lattice.
The concrete with wood grain, the mortar with straw, the metal around the handrail and the rounded form are all in perfect balance.
The special exhibition room on the second floor is rented out as a place for citizens to present their creations.
The light falling from the cedar lattice, the floor illuminated by the spotlight.
When you look beyond the handmade glass, you will see a rounded object outside. Mr. Fujimori said, "It looks like a wild boar.
This is the tea room "Bokuro", which was created to commemorate the museum's 20th anniversary. Designed by Terunobu Fujimori.
It is built on three legs, and the legs are the same as the Tenryu cypress log. One place where the branches are left as they are is Mr. Fujimori's playfulness.
The interior is not open to the public, but from the top you can see the museum, the surrounding mountains, and the city of Futamata. The copper plates on the outside are processed and installed with the help of local elementary, junior high and high school students and volunteers, and are works created together with the local community.
This museum is not only finished in a space where you can fully enjoy the paintings of Ms. Fuku Akino, but you can also feel "comfortable" by making full use of your senses such as contact with nature, admiring the seasons, and touch, smell, and sound. It is a healing space that makes you feel.
It's a small museum with not many works and no café, but even after 21 years, it still attracts visitors even on weekdays. It seems that there are many repeaters from inside and outside the prefecture, which shows its charm.
Please take the time to visit there on your days off. Even if you just spend your time leisurely, you may come up with some good ideas or feel that you will be energized for tomorrow.
