The Classics:
What are "Milanaise", "Country" and "Miracan"?
Even if it is called Ankake Spa, the variation is endless. Many of the shops have a wide variety of original menus.
Among such a large number of menus, the classic menus that you should keep in mind are "Milanaise", "Country" and "Miracan". The difference between these three types is the toppings on the spaghetti.
・Milanese
Mainly topped with meat such as sausage, ham, and bacon. Some shops call it "Milanese". It is the most plentiful menu among the three types.
・Country
Topped with vegetables such as onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms. A healthy dish with plenty of vegetables, recommended for women!
・Mirakan
Meat "Milanaise" + vegetables "Country", abbreviated "Miracan". A luxurious menu with both meat and vegetables! The most popular item at any store is often this “Miracan”. If you can't decide the menu, try this one first and you'll be fine.
In addition, there are toppings that are unique to each store, such as fried shrimp, picata (pork and other ingredients mixed with beaten egg and baked), and fried eggs. The fact that you can taste a different menu every time you go is a point that makes you want to repeat!

Spaghetti House Yokoi
Spaghetti House Yokoi will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2022. In addition to the Sumiyoshi main store in Nagoya Sakae, it is a big name in the Ankake Spa world, with stores in the Nishiki store and KITTE Nagoya, a commercial facility that is directly connected to Nagoya Station.
Actually, this is the original shop of Ankake Spa. Yokoi's "Ankake Spa" was born from the founder's desire to spread Italian cuisine to Japan.
"Mirakcan" is the most popular menu in Yokoi. In fact, this Miracan is a menu that was born from customer feedback.
It is a luxurious dish with plenty of wiener sausages and vegetables such as onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. It's nice that it comes with a small potato salad.
Yokoi's sauce, which is inspired by Italian meat sauce and finished with a taste that Japanese people like, has a good amount of black pepper and is addictive. The 2.2mm original extra-thick pasta is entwined with the rich sauce, creating an addictive taste.
It's not too much to say that almost all of Nagoya residents know about Yokoi's Ankake Spa. Please visit the store to check the taste of the "originator" of the historical Ankake Spa!

So-le
"So-le Ankake Spa Sohonten" is located in the women's university area of Sakae, Nagoya. It is a popular store founded in 1961. Earlier, I introduced Yokoi as the "original", but this is the "birthplace" of Ankake Spa.
So-le's charm is the carefully selected sauce that is made over time using carefully selected ingredients. You can choose between a mild classic sauce and a slightly spicy classic sauce.
I received "Legendary Mirakan" from among the shopkeeper's recommendations. A heaping amount of pasta and an overflowing amount of sauce are impressive! This voluminous feeling is the charm of Ankake Spa.
The normal size has 300g of pasta, so we recommend the smaller 200g for women and people with small appetites. For those who want to eat a lot, there are 1.2 times, 1.5 times, and 2 times more "mashi-mashi (more and more)" menus, so don't worry.
In addition to onions and green peppers, vegetables include fresh tomatoes cut into large pieces. This is a refreshing accent and very delicious!
This time I had it with the classic mild sauce, but it still had a slightly spicy black pepper flavor. The richly seasoned sauce is full of Nagoya flavor.
You can enjoy various toppings such as omelet, hamburger, and fried chicken.
There are also plenty of snacks on the menu, such as ankake skewers and crab cream croquettes! You can also drink alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine, so it is recommended that you stop by not only for lunch, but also for an evening drink after work.

Karametei
"Karametei" has its head office in one company in Meito Ward, Nagoya City. Founded in 1979, this is a Ankake Spa speciality store.
I had "Miracan Spa". After all, the "royal road" Miracan cannot be missed. The meat is a double punch of wiener sausages and bacons! In addition to the standard onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes, there are also vegetables such as peas and corn, so there are a lot of ingredients.
The feature of Karametei is this thick sauce. Tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, onions, and other vegetables are cooked in the oven for two days to create a rich sauce! Compared to other shops, you can see that the color is darker. It's quite spicy, and when you eat it, you'll sweat a little.
Each table has original spices to change the taste, so you can eat until the end without getting tired of it!
They have a wide variety of menus, from brand new things to classics such as the unusual "Mala (spicy & numbing) Spa" and "Yaki (grilled) Neapolitan Spa".
Karametei is the only place where you can eat such a punchy sauce! Ankake Spa is highly recommended for those who like spicy food. When you visit the area, why not try the thick Ankake Spa?

Spaghetti House Ciao
"Spaghetti House Ciao" has stores in many commercial facilities such as Nagoya JR Gate Tower, BINO Sakae, and Apita Inazawa, including Nishikidori Fushimi Crossroads in Nagoya Sakae.
Under the name "Ciao Nino", it is a famous store that operates a food court type store in Airport Walk Nagoya.
Chao's Ankake Spa is attractive because of its gentle spicy sauce. The spiciness unique to Ankake Spa is moderated, so even small children can enjoy eating it together with adults.
Their original sauce is full of delicious vegetables and beef that have been aged for several days! Thick pasta is entwined with thick, flavorful sauce.
The ingredients of "Miracan" include standard items such as onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and red wiener sausages, as well as corn and bamboo shoots! The sweetness of the corn and the texture of the bamboo shoots add a nice accent.
For those who say, "I don't like spicy food, but I'm curious about Ankake Spa," you can start with Ciao's gentle Ankake Spa. There are various menus such as Neapolitan menus and limited-time menus, so the whole family can enjoy it!

Spaghetti Como
"Spaghetti Como" is located on the 9th floor of the commercial facility "SKYLE" in Sakae, Nagoya. Founded in 1962, this is also an Ankake Spa specialty store.
During lunch, the restaurant is full of male customers such as office workers. That should be it, even though Como's menu mostly comes in large portion, it is reasonably priced! The daily lunch menu includes spaghetti and a small salad for 600 yen (tax included). You can have Ankake Spa at a high cost performance.
"Shigatsu" is a popular menu that competes for 1st and 2nd place in Como. This is a normal serving, but the amount of noodles is about 450g! (There is also a smaller (220g) menu.)
"Shigatsu" is a pasta dish that is stir-fried with curry powder and topped with ankake sauce. This is also an addictive taste, and the spices of both ankake and curry stimulate the stomach. The scrambled eggs on top neutralize the spiciness.
In fact, there is no classic Ankake Spa on the menu in Como. You can enjoy unique Ankake Spas with unusual names such as "Sicilian (sauce, chicken liver and vegetables)" and "Pizza Style (sauce, vegetables, sausage and cheese)."
If you want to eat delicious Ankake Spa at low budget, please visit Como. Once you visit, you will be fascinated by its taste and volume!

Ankake Taro
The last one to introduce is "Ankake Taro", which has its main store "SAKURA" in Naka Ward, Nagoya City. Ankake Spa store that operates 5 stores in Nagoya city, including the main store.
In addition to the No. 1 popular mirakan and other Ankake Spa, there are many other creative spas such as Indian and Neapolitan dishes using curry sauce, and Italian dishes that are only available after 13:00!
Among the many menus, this time we received the strongest collaboration of Nagoya Meshi (Nagoya food), "Taiwan Spa". Ankake Spa topped with "Taiwan ramen" ingredients (spicy mince, bean sprouts, chives).
The spiciness of both the Taiwanese-flavored chili and the black pepper in the ankake sauce is a perfect match. The extra-thick pasta is chewy. The secret Ankake sauce that uses a lot of vegetables has a rich and deep finish.
At Ankake Taro, in addition to the abundant menu, there are 7 sizes available. The largest one, mega size is 1000g! It is also a nice point that all items come with consommé soup for free. Small and regular sizes are available for takeout, so you can enjoy Ankake Spa in various situations.
