A Store that Makes you Want to Stay Longer
Renovation of an 86-year-old Traditional House

This shop is located in a residential area of Mizuho Ward, Nagoya City, a 5-minute walk from the "Hotta-dori 5-chome" bus stop.

With the goal of creating a shop that would be a place for locals to relax, they renovated an 86-year-old traditional house from scratch. You will be attracted to its stylish appearance.

The store has a warm atmosphere where you can feel the warmth of wood. All the interiors where you can feel the commitment are wonderful.

Two stores, "Coffee Sen" and "Yukurine" are open here.

Both shopkeepers are bright and have a calm impression. Above all, you can feel the closeness from the conversation between the two, and the atmosphere of the shop is very attractive.

This store was actually originally run by Mr. Tarutani, the owner of "Yukurine", who wanted to open a shop specializing in soap, so she started remodeling an old private house.

At first, only “Yukurine” was opened, but then she met Ms. Kitagawa at marche, the owner of “Coffee Sen”, and they hit it off. From such a wonderful connection, it seems that they decided to have a shop together.

Wants to be a Shop like a "Line" that Connects People
"Coffee Sen"

– Please tell us how you opened “Coffee Sen”.

Ms. Kitagawa:"I was originally a company employee, but while working at a company, I began to seek a place to belong and a place to heal myself."

So, I decided to work at a coffee shop first and gain experience. As I gained experience at various shops, I was able to see what kind of shop I was aiming for, so I started selling coffee and scones at Marché and online shops.

At that time, I had a relationship with Ms. Tarutani, and it continues to this day. The store name "Coffee Sen" wants to be like a "line: sen (線)" that connects people, and I hope that a cup of coffee and a scone will play a role in connecting people in the area. ”

– Please tell us what you are particular about.

Ms. Kitagawa:"As a coffee and scone specialty store, we are particular about making both.

Only high quality specialty coffee beans are used. We aim for a refreshing and easy-to-drink coffee that is roasted in-house.

Scones are basically made with a focus on texture. I personally don't like dry scones, so our scones are crunchy, with a texture similar to cookies.”

Offering a wide variety of scones and specialty coffee

"Coffee Sen" always sells 6-7 types of scones.

Plain-flavored scones, which are delicious without jam, are the most popular.

Recommended is "Nuts and Whole Grains". Unlike regular scones, it uses whole wheat flour with large grains from Hokkaido, so you can enjoy a crunchy texture. They are always lined up in stores along with plain, so you can enjoy them anytime.

“Hojicha White Chocolate” is popular along with plain. Plenty of white chocolate is kneaded, and it is irresistible for chocolate lovers. The cinnamon on top is a good accent, making it an addictive scone.

For coffee, we have prepared a “blend that goes well with scones” and “komorebi”.

"Blend that goes well with scones" is the signboard menu of "Coffee Sen". It has a refreshing taste similar to black tea, and when you drink it with scones, you can enjoy coffee marriage.

"Komorebi" is recommended for summer. You can drink it as it is, or you can enjoy it cold. It is a lightly roasted coffee with no sourness that you can drink as much as you want.

Delivering Good Products to As Many People As Possible
"Yukurine"

– Please tell us how you opened “Yukurine”.

Ms. Tarutani: “My previous job was harsh and I became ill in my 20s, so I started to be interested in natural remedies. That is also where I learned about the benefits of aromatherapy.

I thought that aromatherapy would be useful for raising children, so I started making and using natural soaps that incorporate aromatherapy for my daughter.

Around this time, I had already used a lot of natural products for my daughter, so I didn't realize it, but when I was raising my daughter, I learned from conversations with mom friends that many children had many skin concerns. rice field.

I felt that using handmade soap would help with skin problems, so when I started a soap making class, and it was very well received. After that, I started to get a lot of requests to sell the soap itself, so I decided to open a soap specialty store. ”

– Please tell us what you are particular about.

Ms. Tarutani: "At 'Yukurine', we only sell what we think is really good. I have experienced skin trouble myself, so I would be happy if as many people as possible could get rid of these troubles.

Basically, you can wash your whole body from your head to your body with just one soap. Each person has different skin concerns, so I make soap every day by changing the type of oil and the aroma scent according to the skin concerns, and repeating trial and error one by one.

We always sell about 9 to 10 types of soaps at our store, so we would be happy if our soaps were in the hands of those who really need them.

The store name "Yukurine" comes from a word my friend used to say to me every day when I was busy. “Take it easy.” “Take it slow.” And I want everyone who visits this store to have a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Without forgetting this feeling, I want to continue to run this store. ”

A Lot of Cute Soaps that you Want to Recommend to Others

On this day, 9 types of soap were lined up at the store. All of them have different aromas, and the scent is very soothing.

The most popular items at "Yukurine" are from the "Marseille" line. A moist soap that can be used by those with sensitive skin, those suffering from atopic dermatitis, and babies. It contains 72% olive oil, so it is recommended for dry autumn and winter.

It costs 850 yen to 1,200 yen per piece, and you can use it for 2 to 3 months if you only use it on your face.

This kitchen soap is one of the current favorites of “Yukurine”. (600 yen) This size seems to last for 1 to 2 months.

Excellent foaming and foam removal, ideal for removing oil stains. Nevertheless, it is an excellent product that is gentle on the skin and moisturizes the hands while washing the dishes.

It is also recommended for those who are worried about rough hands and those who want to quickly wash the dishes.

The two of them said in unison, "I want to aim for a store that is close to the lives of the local people."
Having the same dream, I saw how they managed the store happily while working hard, and before I knew it, I became a fan of the store.

Not only can you incorporate coffee, scones, and soap into your daily life, but you can also give this product as a gift to someone you care about.

A little luxury as a gift for yourself or someone close to you. Please visit the store once and enjoy choosing gifts at your leisure.
