Let's go on a movie location tour in Nagoya!

In Nagoya, filming is permitted in various places such as cultural property facilities and the city, and it is no exaggeration to say that the area is indispensable for the production of movies and dramas. It was used as a filming location for the movie "Masquerade Hotel" starring Takuya Kimura, and Masaharu Fukuyama once praised Nagoya as a movie town.

So, this time, we will introduce recommended locations in Nagoya City.

The Solitary Gourmet filming location ①
"Coffee Place Karasu" | Fushimi Station

"Coffee place Karasu" is a cafe located in Sakae 1-chome, Naka-ku, Nagoya, which is also popular with cafe lovers. It is known as the filming location for The Solitary Gourmet Nagoya business trip edition. The specialty menu item "An Toast" ordered by Goro is very popular.

This time, I ordered the Karasu blended coffee and "an toast" that appeared in the drama. Dark roasted coffee goes well with sweet bean paste toast.

The Solitary Gourmet filming location ②
"Taiwan ramen Koyo"|Nishi Ward, Nagoya City

Goro, who was shaken by whether to eat "Taiwan ramen" or "Hitsumabushi" in The Solitary Gourmet Nagoya business trip edition, ended up with "Taiwan ramen". Goro visited "Taiwan ramen Koyo" in Nishi Ward, Nagoya City.

During the program, Goro ordered three items: "Taiwan ramen," "spicy garlic fried rice," and "vinegared chicken." At the restaurant, it is also on the menu as “Goro-san Set (¥2,035)”.

There are 5 levels of spiciness for the ramen: American, Normal, Slightly Spicy, Medium Spicy, and Super Spicy, so even those who don't like spicy food can try it. Please try it.

Another one from The Solitary Gourmet business trip edition. "Unatoyo" in Toyooka-dori, Mizuho-ku, Nagoya City is "Unaju" that Goro failed to eat in his dream.

The eel on top of piping hot rice is served with a not-too-rich sauce and a relatively light aftertaste. Goro even dreamed that it was delicious.

Nagoya's famous location "government district"
|Around Sannomaru, Naka Ward, Nagoya City

A government district in Naka Ward, Nagoya City. It is characterized by wide roads and intersections without traffic lights. It seems that the government district was chosen as the location for the first time in the movie "Strawberry Night" starring Yuko Takeuchi. The scene shot in the government district was also used in the promotional poster for "Strawberry Night".

It has been used as a filming location for various movies such as the movie "SCOOP!" starring Masaharu Fukuyama and the movie "Ajin" starring Takeru Sato and Go Ayano.

Speaking of the sacred place of Nagoya location, it is "Nagoya City Hall"! It is used in many movies as a place where you can shoot in a historical building.

The first filming took place at the city hall was Koki Mitani's original and screenplay "Laughing University" (2004). In the movie "SP Revolution" (2011), it was filmed as the Diet Building with a red carpet.

"Princess Odori”|Sakae Station

Similarly, "Princess Odori", which was filmed as a playground for the main character, Sayaka, is also known as a shooting location for Birigyaru.

This is the very place where Sayaka and her friends ran after escaping from the club. At the time of the screening of the film, I also remember that I felt uplifted when this place was shown on the screen.
It is nice when a place you know is used in a movie.

In addition, the area near Sakae Station Exit 2, where you can see the Ferris wheel of Sunshine Sakae, was also used as a filming location for Birigyaru.
