Each dish has a gentle flavor that shows the time and effort that went into it. Starting with an aperitif of plum wine, you can enjoy a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, grilled dishes, and tempura.

Enjoy the hot springs of beauty

The best thing about staying at an onsen ryokan is the hot spring.

The "alkaline simple hot spring" that is the spring quality of Gero Onsen is highly effective in exfoliating the skin, promoting the metabolism of dead skin cells and eliminating dullness, and is also noted as "Bijin-no-yu," a hot spring with high skin beautifying effects. It is clear and colorless, with a smooth texture and a slight scent of hot water.

The large public bath at Gero Onsen Yamagataya is open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and you can enjoy the morning bath from 5:00 a.m. the next day, so you can enjoy the hot springs to your heart's content!

Private open-air bath (Hoshikago)

For couples, we recommend the private open-air bath.

Gero Onsen Yamagataya has two types of private open-air baths, "Hanamai" and "Hoshikago", along the Hida River. You can enjoy a slightly different atmosphere from the open-air bath in the guest room.
