Handmade soba shop like a cafe
"Homemade flour handmade soba naru"
The first place I would like to introduce is “Homemade Flour Handmade Soba naru” located in the downtown area, a 1-minute walk from Enshu Railway “Daiichi-dori Station”. I heard that there is a stylish and delicious soba restaurant in Hamamatsu and went there.
At first glance, I wondered if there was a stylish soba noodle shop in such a place. I wondered, and then I saw a signboard!
exterior.
The shop is located on the second floor of a multi-tenant building.
When I went up the stairs, I saw a signboard with a picture of soba noodles. I have a feeling it's already fashionable.
As I climbed the stairs, I found a wall full of buckwheat noodle art. In the gallery attached to the restaurant, they hold exhibitions and live performances by artists. It is exciting even before you eat.
Even though we were there when it has just opened, there was already a line of people waiting in line. While we were waiting, we had hot tea and books selected by the owner, so our turn came quickly.
This time, I had the "Weekday limited soba lunch set (1,100 yen)". For the menu, you can choose either egg rolls, side dishes of the day, Seiro soba or kake soba.
Soba noodles are hand-cut thin 28 soba noodles that are whitish in color. Carefully selected buckwheat hulls are removed from the round dough and then carefully ground into homemade flour to create a rich aroma.
It went down well and was very delicious. Dashi rolled eggs and small bowls were also elegantly seasoned. Each vessel is wonderful, so it pleases both the eyes and the tongue.
Enjoying soba noodles in a sophisticated space that you wouldn't expect from a soba restaurant is the best experience. At dinner time, there are plenty of side dishes that go well with alcohol, so please try it.

Hamamatsu's cultural transmission spot
"KAGIYA Building"
The KAGIYA Building was built in 1961 and is over 50 years old. Originally, the building was a deserted building with few stores, but Maruhachi Real Estate redeveloped it to "enhance the cultural value of the area," and in October 2012, it was reborn as a new "store and working space" for young creators.
The location is a 10-minute walk from JR Hamamatsu Station in Shizuoka.
Near the entrance on the west side of the 1st floor, there is a signboard of the residents.
The building houses a nostalgic pure coffee shop, as well as unique stores from the first basement floor to the fourth floor, including a BAR, a live music club, a gallery, and vessels. All tenants are now fully occupied, and the building is attracting attention from outside the prefecture as one of Hamamatsu's most fashionable spots.
This is a "Good Luck" sign by San Francisco artist Jeff Canham. He painted this sign in sympathy with the KAGIYA Building's desire to "create a creative community of young people in the city center of Hamamatsu.
The interior of the building is decorated with logos and signs that match the retro feel of the good old building.
In the building, there is also a shop "BOOKS AND PRITNS" designed by Shingo Wakaki, who is active as a photographer and movie director.
Unfortunately, most of them were closed on this day, so I could only see inside the building.
The KAGIYA building is a mixture of various cultures. Just strolling around the building was very interesting, and I will definitely return next time. If you are going on a trip to Hamamatsu, please check the regular closing days and stop by.
