[Fushimi, Nagoya] Harukanaru Curry, A Meal Made with Locally Grown Fresh Vegetables and Carefully Selected Brown Rice

Nagoya city Naka-ku Fushimi
Posting date: 2019.10.11

Until the birth of the Nagoya store

Why was this curry created in the first place?

Saki-san: "Haruka-san's parents grow vegetables at the Ginza restaurant. At first, she used those vegetables to make curry. She was surprised at the difference in taste from the vegetables she bought in Tokyo."

Was Haruka involved in the opening of the store in Nagoya?

Saki-san: "When we decided on the layout, we decided to focus on curry, but I was left in charge of where to buy vegetables. I had always been interested in the food and beverage industry, so I had a lot of fun finding new things to look for when searching for contract farmers."

Certainly, there seems to be various discoveries when you go directly to the field.

Saki:-san "I think that's part of the reason why I'm doing volunteer work on the farm now."

Were there any other things you were particular about when creating the store?

Ms. Saki: "I was very particular about the interior. There are various things that Haruka-san at the Ginza store has in mind. I want to make the place feel special for customers. I valued the impression and sense of distance, such as the counter and lighting.

We also display works created by customers and staff. I would like to improve it further in the future. ”

So many things I want to do!

Do you have any plans for the future?

Saki-san: "We serve curry in the evening as well, but we would like to expand our menu to include more than just curry. We are in the process of creating more and more snacks using vegetables."

There is also a wine cellar in the store, and it seems that the type of liquor is substantial. It's nice to be able to have snacks while talking with the friendly staff.

Saki-san: "We are now able to add other vegetable-based drinks and desserts to our menu. There are still many things we would like to try. We just haven't caught up with all the preparations."

We can expect further developments in the future.

Saki-san: "The farmers are in favor of selling vegetables directly to the public. The other day, one of our customers bought some bitter melons and went home. We haven't officially started selling them yet, but I think there are others who are interested."

It would be fun to try cooking the fresh vegetables you eat at the store at home. I look forward to further development of "Harukanaru Curry" in the future.

Thank you Saki-san and all the staff.
