Izakaya Tsuruhachi is located in an excellent location, just a 30-second walk from the west exit of Nagoya Station. This long-established bar retains the atmosphere of a Showa-era bar with red lanterns lighting up the eaves.
At Tsuruhachi, you can enjoy a variety of gourmet foods and alcoholic beverages, including Nagoya foods, gourmet foods from the Tokai area, and sake that you can only drink here. A Showa Izakaya that is irresistible for drinkers
"Tsuruhachi" is located in front of the west exit of Nagoya Station. It's about a 30 second walk. The inside of the store has an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're back in the Showa era, so you can feel free to stop by even on your own.
The restaurant is located from the first to the third floor, and all seats are "Smoking OK"! Due to the large number of families, the third floor seating area is non-smoking only on weekends. There is only one restroom in the restaurant on the first floor, and two each on the second and third floors.
Reservations can be made for small groups. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options to suit your needs, including counter, table, and private rooms. Private rooms are limited to one, so reservations should be made as soon as possible.

− Please tell us about the history of Tsuruhachi.
Representative Yamaoka:“Tsuruhachi was founded about 50 years ago. It all started when the founder opened an izakaya at the back (west exit) of Nagoya Station. At the time, only the second floor was operating as izakaya, but there were many izakayas in the surrounding area, so the father of the previous generation came up with the idea of having fresh fish swimming in tubs inside the restaurant to set it apart from other izakayas.
Since then, Tsuruhachi has gained a reputation as an izakaya with innovative ideas and cheap, fresh fish, and many people have come to know Tsuruhachi. The origin of the affiliated store "Ikesu (fishtank) Tsuruhachi" is also based on an idea that was created at the time of the company's founding.
At the time of its founding, the menu mainly consisted of dishes that went well with alcohol, but as the times changed, the menu expanded to include Nagoya food, and now they also offer specialties from the Tokai area, such as Mie and Gifu. We serve food with the premise that it goes well with alcohol, so each dish has a flavor that goes well with alcohol.

Original sake “Tsurunoka”
Kikumasamune's "Tsurunohana", which is limited to Tsuruhachi, was created by the predecessor who was particular about dryness. This is a valuable barrel sake that can only be drunk here.
It has a clean, dry taste with no unpleasant flavors, and goes perfectly with any dish. Even people who don't like sake can drink this alcohol!
It's a drink that you can drink one or two glasses at a time.
The gourd-shaped sake bottle makes a pleasant clicking sound when you pour alcohol into it. Just the sound will make your drink more enjoyable.

President Ganko's Chicken Wings
President Ganko's Chicken Wings (380 yen) won the Gold Award at the Chicken Wings Summit. It's an old-fashioned chicken wing with a secret sauce added to it. Freshly fried chicken wings have crispy skin! The meat inside is very juicy.
It's so delicious that you can eat as many as you want.
Miso dishes representing Nagoya cuisine
"Doteni (cow shin meat simmered in miso broth) (550 yen)" that melts in your mouth, "Miso Tonchan (grilled ofal) (780 yen)" that goes well with sake, and "Miso Kushikatsu (skewers with miso sauce) (480 yen for two skewers)", a famous dish with sweet and spicy miso that makes you addictive. You can't go wrong with miso dishes that are representative of Nagoya cuisine, such as the addictive "Miso Oden (vegetables and fishcakes in dashi broth) " (580 yen).
