[Film camera in hand] "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.04" in hand (Contax G1 + D FunS edition) - Sakurayama
Table of Contents
Hello. I'm Kanae, a photographer.
This time, I took a walk with "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.04" in hand!
The area introduced by "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.04" is around Gokiso, Sakurayama, and Mizuho Ward Office.
"LOVERS NAGOYA" is a Nagoya guide book that was created from the desire to create a book that summarizes "favourites" rather than a guidebook that lists Nagoya's "specialties", led by Mr. Kato, the representative of the Great Nagoya Tours Executive Committee, who has been interviewed before.
The area you can walk around is summarized in one book, so it's perfect for a camera walk!

Morning breakfast at "KISO"
This time I go to "KISO" for morning breakfast.
KISO opened in August 2021 under the concept of "a store that serves as a foundation for people.
It is about an 8-minute walk from Exit 8 of the Sakurayama Subway Station. It is located right in front of the Takiko city bus stop.
According to my research before my walk, the store was popular in the morning and there was a line, but when I went there, I was lucky enough to get in smoothly.
I ordered the Tasting Plate, an eat-in-only menu item, and a cafe latte.
The Tasting Plate this time consisted of three types: sourdough, marron glacé sourdough, and fig muscat le vin!
All of them were delicious, with a hard but glutinous texture and large chestnuts and figs to feel the pulp. Fig lovers will not be able to resist! The marron glacé sourdough is filled with chestnuts and nuts. It tasted like something you would want to eat for breakfast or as a snack.
"Bonbon Center" where the Showa era remains
Exit "KISO" and return to the station.
There is "Bonbon Center" in the place where you walked for about 10 minutes.
A feeling of the Showa era that suddenly appears and drifts. Once you pass through the blue gate that says "Bonbon Center," you'll feel like you've slipped back in time.
Izakaya and bars are still open in the narrow alley ahead of the gate.
How about visiting at night when you want to feel a little deeper Nagoya?
Take a walk with a map
Boulangerie Bre - van
Let's walk a little by following the map of "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.04".
The first thing that came out was "Boulangerie Bre-Van"
There is a spacious parking lot in front of the shop, making it easy to reach by car.
After passing "Boulangerie Bre-Van", turn right and enter "Shiotsuke Kaido".
Until the middle of the Edo period, the salt that had been produced around Motohoshizaki was collected around Kodeki-cho in Chikusa ward. About 10 km of the road is called "Shiotsuke Kaido".
Top Fruit Yaobun
If you go further along the main road, you will find "Top Fruit Yao-bun".
After that, I will return to the station.
Financierie "H"
On the way back to the station, I found "Financierie H".
The cute red door on the outside of the store drew me in.
There were many financiers lined up in a row, and the aroma of butter wafted through the air inside the store!
It seems that there are seasonal products, and when I visited, there were autumn-only Dainagon and chestnut, pumpkin, and sweet potato financiers.
I bought a hazelnut financier that was recommended and a chocolate financier with nuts and almonds. Next to the cash register, there are also products whose expiration date is close to becoming cheaper. If the timing is right, you may be able to purchase it at a discounted price?!
For lunch, head to Buta Inagaki for the exquisite tonkatsu
I went to "Buta Inagaki" for lunch.
The restaurant opened at 11:30 a.m. I arrived 5 minutes before, but there was already a line. I was the 10th in line. After 45 minutes of waiting outside, I finally got in.
The interior of the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. It was very hot today, so I drank the cold tea served to me in one gulp.
The menu is ordered via smart phone while waiting.
The fillet cutlet set meal I ordered came out!
The batter is thin and crispy! Contrary to its thick appearance, it is soft and does not require chewing force. It's surprisingly refreshing to eat. It comes with sauce, mustard, and salt, but my recommendation is salt.
It was a delicious set meal, but the "KAZUHORO fillet cutlet set meal" that the person next to me was eating was very thick and looked delicious, so I'd like to try it someday.
This time, with "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.04" in hand, I took a walk around Sakurayama.
"LOVERS NAGOYA vol. 04" is filled with stores and places that I have not yet written about or walked around enough.
I would like to visit some of my favorite bakeries in the area as well!
At Sakurayama Station, which I used this time, there was also mosaic tile art that I introduced before, so please take a look at that as well ♪
