About 2 minutes by car from Sunny Coast Kayak. We visited "GREEN & GREEN", a coffee shop loved by locals. Here, you can have a daily lunch using local ingredients.

Originally, it was named "GREEN & GREEN" because it was a flower shop and a coffee shop.

The store has a high ceiling like a log house. It is a warm space where you can unintentionally relax. On the day I visited, it was crowded with locals.

Gratin lunch of local noble scallop ￥1,000

Let's have lunch now.

First of all, "Appa gratin lunch (¥ 1,000)". Appa is one of the three major Minami-Ise town "Appappa shell (noble scallop)". It is called Appappa because of the way it flutters its shell.

It's the same bivalve as scallops, and has a richer flavor than scallops! It was packed with umami as well as the white sauce.

The other is the "Toro Tuna Sashimi Set Meal (¥880)".

Minami-Ise town is also a tuna production area. The warm Kuroshio Current and the mineral-rich seawater from the Kii Mountains mix in the fishing grounds.

When I actually tried it, it had less excess fat than regular toro, and it had a refreshing taste with a strong tuna flavor.

One of the attractions of GREEN & GREEN is its wide variety of menu items in addition to the daily lunch specials. From the standard coffee shop menu such as pasta, pilaf, and doria to the ginger-grilled set and borscht set. The "Oyster Gratin," available only from fall through spring, is another hidden specialty.

They also sell jam made with mandarin oranges from a family business, a mandarin orange farm.

"Minami Ise Wine" is handled by "Minami Ise Winery Association", which Mr. Nakajima is the representative of. It is also sold at GREEN & GREEN.

These local delicacies are unique to travel.
