[Chiryu] "Sauna Eagle" Provides New Standard for Sauna Lovers!

"Sauna Eagle" in Chiryu City, Aichi Prefecture (men only). It is a sauna facility full of events and facilities where you can enjoy a loyly service that raises the sensible temperature and a rare "single water bath" in the Tokai region.

Good location accessible by car or train

"Sauna Eagle" is a men-only sauna facility located in the Eagle Terrace, a complex of amusement facilities including a bowling alley. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Chiryu Station on the Meitetsu Line and is equipped with a large parking lot.

The entrance is modern and stylish. Images of "sauna," "water bath," and "outdoor air bath" appear one after another on the digital signage like a slide show, heightening the sense of anticipation.

Feeling hotter than the actual temperature!?
Let's go to the sauna room

After completing the reception, let's head to the bath. Lockers and baths are on the same floor, and the flow line is outstanding.

We immediately went to the sauna room, the core of the facility. I guess this is a "Sauna Eagle" thing, but the sauna was hot even when there was nothing in particular going on, such as loyly!

The thermometer showed around 85°C. The temperature in the sauna rooms of "Ogaki Sauna" and "Sauna Pier" in Toyohashi easily exceeds 100℃, so it shouldn't be that hot...  Anyway, I sweat a lot in a short time.

Later, when I checked with the staff, I was told that water was frequently sprinkled outside of the time for loyly to maintain the sensible temperature. After all, it seems that there is an extraordinary commitment to creating the condition of the sauna room.

You can't say that you have enjoyed Sauna Eagle to the fullest if you are still saying, "It's too hot!" The true essence of this facility, the Sauna Eagle service, awaits you.

* Please take into account your physical condition and enjoy the sauna and water bath without difficulty.

Receiving a heat wave from the young Meister Tajima!

At "Sauna Eagle", heat wave masters are called "meisters". On this day, the Meister who delivers the heat wave is Mr. Shin Tajima, a hopeful hope in his second year with the company. Since he was a student, he visited various sauna facilities, and finally started working at a sauna facility.

He showed us the towels, which is the sauna goods specialty brand "37 (Sauna)". The 70cm x 70cm square towel is easy to Aufguss*, and is said to be his favourite.

The steam generated by pouring water on heated stones is agitated at once by waving a towel or other object to raise the temperature of the body.

It's finally time to start the loyly service. Loyly is held five times a day at 14:00, 16:00, 19:00, 21:00, and 22:00. It will also be held at 6:30 only on Saturdays and Sundays.

Due to the high popularity of the loyly, reservations are required on the day of each session. If you wish to participate, fill in your locker number on the reception form in front of the dressing room. Remember, "When you arrive at Sauna Eagle, make a reservation for Loryu anyway."

Mr. Tajima sprinkles aromatic water on the sauna stones and skillfully uses his towel to stir the steam throughout the room. It is supple and sometimes dynamic, and you will be enchanted by it.

Once the steam has been spread throughout the room, each participant is fanned with an uchiwa fan. Mr. Tajima says that he fans each participant with an uchiwa fan with the "strike point" in mind. The toes are a sensitive part of the body, so if the "strike point" is too low, the toes will feel excessive heat. In order for the recipient to feel a more invigorating sensation, it is important to send heat waves from the face to the chest area, he said.

In a normal loyly, the water is splashed twice, and the water is individually fanned 10 times each (20 times total). The "seconds" of the heat wave is free, so he sometimes fan one participant over 100 times!

In addition, at 21:00 on weekdays (16:00 and 21:00 on Saturdays, and 16:00 and 19:00 on Sundays), the event called "Super Loyly" will be held three times instead of the usual two! However, the Sauna Eagle's water splash is hot enough (or even hotter without water splash), so be sure to participate it in moderation.

"Single" waiting beyond the scorching sauna

Once you've endured the scorching heat, go to another specialty, the "Single"*! This day was pointing to 6.1°C. Even the most experienced sauna lover will be a bit nervous when the temperature is in the 6°C range, but the heat of the service is so intense that you will want to jump right in (don't forget to pour hot/cold water).

* A water bath with a water temperature of 9°C or less. Also known as "Grusin"

After cooling down quickly in the "single", move to another water bath next to it. The temperature of this water bath is around 20℃, so you can enjoy alternating cold and cold baths.

The fact that there is an open-air bathing space is also a selling point of the facility. Let's cool down the body that was flushed with the loyly service.

Enjoy the famous ramen at a restaurant open until midnight

At the restaurant "Yururiya" in the building, you can enjoy a wide range of dishes, from seasonal single dishes prepared by experienced chefs to sauna dishes. There are counter seats and horigotatsu table seats, so whether you come alone or in a group, you can enjoy your meal.

There is also a booth seat with a TV in the back. This moderate sense of privacy is the best, to say the least.
The restaurant is open until 24:00 on Fridays and Saturdays until 2:00 on Fridays and Saturdays (last order is 30 minutes before each). Even in facilities that are open 24 hours a day, the restaurant often closes quite early, so this is a blessing!

We would like you to try the "Eagle Condition Ramen" (1,050 yen). It is a dish based on the so-called "Viet Cong Ramen", which is filled with garlic, Chinese chives, and bean sprouts.

The thick soup permeates the sweaty body. There are 6 large garlic cloves in it, and it looks like it will give you stamina! The crunchy texture of the vegetables is also irresistible.
This is going to be addictive.

"Sauna Eagle" aiming for "2 ranks up"

I once again asked Mr. Tajima, who brought us a wonderful heat wave earlier.

Yasuda: "Which part do you think is 'only one aspect' in 'Sauna Eagle'?"

Mr. Tajima: "The 'Sauna Eagle' may be the only one that responds to the various requests of our customers through events. 'Zen loyly', where the lights in the sauna are dimmed and steamed slowly. And we are doing projects such as 'Oropo loyly' toasting in the sauna room almost every day."

Although Mr. Tajima is in his second year with the company, he is involved in planning various events and restaurant menus. It seems that he really enjoys being involved in the sauna, and he responds to interviews with sparkling eyes.

Yasuda: "Is there anything you keep in mind when delivering heat waves as a meister?"

Mr. Tajima: "Rather than just sticking to the heat, I have a strong desire to enjoy my time in the sauna room."

When I actually experienced the loyly, which Mr. Tajima is in charge of, I was impressed by how he softened the atmosphere of the sauna room with his small story.

In addition to Mr. Tajima, there are about 20 other meisters, and regular customers are looking forward to seeing the different personalities of each. I hear conversations such as "Oh! Is XX-kun in charge of loyly today?"

Finally, Mr. Tajima said, "The slogan of all the staff is 'Aiming for a sauna facility that is two ranks higher.'" It is said that the sauna room is in good condition, clean, and the food is delicious.

"I'm still not there," says Tajima modestly, but I can't imagine how the hardware is complete, such as the lory program that makes you sweat comfortably, the single water bath, and the perfect flow line from sauna to cold bath to open-air bath. It was beyond.
If you add the planning ability of young staff members, including Tajima-san, you will be a demon! The day when it will be called "the next-generation sauna standard" should not be far away.
