Hida Beef Nigiri Sushi from "Hida Kotte Beef"
If you want to eat Hida Takayama's brand beef "Hida beef" at a reasonable price, Hida beef nigiri sushi from "Hida Kotte Beef" is recommended!
The menu consists only of Hida beef nigiri. We only use Hida beef from a specific rare part of Hida beef (grade 5) and Hida rice from Hitomebore. The fresh Hida beef is melt-in-your-mouth sweetness. The three-piece set includes Hida beef nigiri sushi with bamboo charcoal salt and ginger soy sauce, and Hida beef gunkan with quail yolk on top.
Since the food is served on hand-baked crackers instead of plates, there is no waste, which is a nice feature for eating and walking around.

The aroma of soy sauce is irresistible,
Mitarashi dumplings from Fujimi-ya
Speaking of Takayama specialty, mitarashi dango!
Speaking of "mitarashi" nationwide, sweet sauce is the mainstream, but Takayama's "mitarashi" is grilled with a less sweet soy sauce.
There are several mitarashi dango shops in Takayama City, but this time we went to Fujimi-ya, a long-established dango shop founded in 1947. The stickiness of the rice flour combined with the aroma of tamari soy sauce is irresistible. The reasonable price of 90 yen per stick is also attractive.

Yakisoba from Chitose, the soul food of the locals
Speaking of soul food in Hida Takayama, Chitose was founded in 1960. With an orange signboard as a landmark, this restaurant is famous for its yakisoba.
There are more than 15 kinds of yakisoba alone, including "meat" and " squid and egg." The homemade chewy, medium-thick noodles and the sauce, which is made more fragrant by the griddle, are irresistible. It is even better when the noodles are tossed with an egg.
By the way, “Chinese soba” is also excellent, so don’t miss it!

Perfect for souvenirs!
"Sukuna pumpkin three-star pudding"
A recommended souvenir from Takayama is the “Sukuna Pumpkin Three-Star Pudding” produced by the Michelin-listed French restaurant “Lumidi”. This pudding is made with plenty of local ingredients such as Hida Takayama's traditional vegetable "Sukuna Pumpkin", eggs from Hida, and milk from Hida. Each year the pumpkin tastes different, so the label changes like wine.
The natural sweetness and rich flavor of the pureed pumpkin will make you want to eat it again and again. Pumpkin puree seasoned with salt and pepper at the bottom of the bottle! By mixing it with puree, you can enjoy a different taste.
Quantities are limited, so hurry up!
