Taste galette with a glass of cider or natural wine in hand at 24PILLARS, a stylish cafe under the elevated JR Chuo Line.

In May 2022, a new café, 24PILLARS, opened under the elevated JR Chuo Line in Kanayama, Nagoya. This café offers mainly galettes and crepes, as well as ciders, natural wines, and other alcoholic beverages to be enjoyed with a variety of dishes.

In addition to the cafe, it is a complex facility with a gallery, studio, and factory. Workshops and exhibitions by artists are regularly held there, so it's a new spot that's attracting a lot of attention right now!

This time, I went to the newly opened cafe "24PILLARS" to enjoy dinner!

The location is about 7 minutes on foot from Kanayama Station. Discover the conspicuous "24" neon under the JR elevated tracks where shops such as izakaya are lined up! The name "24", which is also the name of the cafe, has a meaning came from the fact that there are 24 pillars standing in the space.

The interior of the restaurant is long and wide, stretching from left to right with the entrance in front of it. The ceiling is high and very open! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the warmth of wood everywhere. It is a relaxing and comfortable space that can be used for any situation, including lunch, café, and dinner.

I found a table for standing and drinking!

There are also moody table seats with cute banana lights.

There are various types of seats such as tables and counters, so you can visit not only in groups but also by yourself without hesitation.

This is the menu of "24 PILLARS".

"TODAY'S~" on the right is a special menu only for that time. Starting with crepes and galettes made with seasonal ingredients, there are also many "SMALL DISHES" menus of small dishes that go well with alcohol!

What a surprise! You can order food and drinks at 24PILLARS from your smartphone by scanning the QR code. (Alcoholic beverages must be ordered directly to the staff)

The restaurant is large, so it's not easy to call the staff every time you place an order. Also, in this day and age, we are glad to have a contactless ordering method.

With a wide variety of cider and natural wine,
Enjoy the tipsy feeling.

The appeal of 24 PILLARS is the large selection of cider and natural wine. Bottles of wine are lined up all over the store.

This time, I ordered a cider. On this day, we chose from a selection of seven different kinds! Each one comes with a carefully written explanation, so even if you are not familiar with alcoholic beverages, you don't have to worry.

Cider (FILS DE POMME) 1,000 yen (tax included)

Here is the one I chose from among the many ciders. French organic cider "FILS DE POMME".

It has a gorgeous flavor with a hint of caramelized wild apples. It is not too sweet, so it goes well with galettes, and the cute packaging is impressive. It is a delicious cider that leaves an elegant clean taste in the mouth.

There is a large wine cellar inside! Many natural wines are lined up. It is irresistible for sake lovers. There are various types, so it's fun to choose each time! Next time, I would like to ask for natural wine (laughs)

At the entrance, pop and cute empty bottles will welcome you!

Galette Crepe as the main dish
A richly varied food menu

Now that the drinks are ready, the fun party is about to begin! From here, I will introduce you to the dinner menu, where you can enjoy the food of "24PILLARS".

Homemade pate de campagne

Homemade pate de campagne 900 yen (tax included)

"Homemade pate de campagne" baked in a cocotte to lock in the umami. It is very easy to eat without the peculiar smell of meat putty! The texture of the meat that is tightly packed is outstanding. By all means, this is a dish that you should try before the main dish.

Hummus

Hummus 1,000 yen (tax included)

Hummus is a traditional home-cooked dish eaten in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region. It's a menu that you don't often see in other restaurants. I was so excited that I ordered it!

Hummus is a paste made from chickpeas. One bite and the smooth, rich chickpea paste melts in your mouth. It's delicious not only for bread, but also for dipping meat and vegetables!

Ufumayo

UfuMayo 600 yen (tax included)

This cute-looking dish is called “Ufumayo”. A soft-boiled egg is covered with plenty of herb mayonnaise sauce. The pink pepper accents the mellowness of the mayonnaise, giving it a stylish taste.

Homemade bread of the day

Today's homemade bread 300 yen (tax included)

Recommended menu of "24 PILLARS"! For "Today's Homemade Bread", you can enjoy 3 types of homemade bread baked in the store.

On this day, there are three types of bread: campagne, turmeric campagne, and black sesame and cheese bread. All of them are fluffy and have gentle taste. Campagne with turmeric kneaded into the dough has an ethnic flavor and is perfect for hummus!

3 types of domestic cheese

Domestic cheese 3 kinds 1,000 yen (tax included)

If you want to accompany wine, this is it! An assortment of 3 carefully selected domestic cheeses.

There is no reason why rich and flavorful cheese and natural wine should not go together. If you like, you can enjoy it with a different taste by adding honey.

Smoked salmon galette

Smoked salmon galette 1,700 yen (tax included)

The first galette is the popular “smoked salmon”. Vegetables, smoked salmon, and ricotta cheese are on top of the large galette that protrudes from the plate.

It is a very hearty dish, as it is the main course! The vegetables are also plentiful, so it is healthy and wholesome. This stylish and attractive meal is sure to raise your spirits!

Bonito Sicilian Galette

Bonito Sicilian galette 1,800 yen (tax included)

The second galette is a Sicilian-style galette of bonito. This galette is perfect for summer, combining bonito tataki with orange and lemon. It is just so refreshing! The orange and tomatoes give it a refreshing summery flavor, and the bonito tataki are thick and satisfying!

Melon cream crepe

Melon cream crepe 1,300 yen (tax included)

The final dessert is, of course, a crepe! What I received this time was "Melon Cream Crepe". I ordered it because I was attracted to the cute name, but it's not just the name that's cute, but the visuals are the best!

You can't go wrong with a melon and ice cream collaboration. The crepe dough is soft and chewy! The melon and ice cream on top of the crepe is so delicious that you can't help but smile when you eat it with the crepe. It is truly a melting melon.

Blend coffee 400 yen (tax included)

Be sure to try the original blended coffee after your meal. "24 PILLARS" original blended coffee using beans from "Little Flower Coffee", a specialty coffee blend specialty store in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.

It's very refreshing, not too bitter, and has a gentle taste. It's a cup of soothing relief after a meal.

When it gets dark, the neon at the entrance creates a more moody atmosphere!

This time, I introduced a dinner where you can enjoy a galette and sake from 24 PILLARS. How was it? Dinner is of course, but the lunchtime galette set is also recommended. Being able to drink alcohol from noon is the ultimate happiness!

By all means, why not spend a wonderful holiday at 24PILLARS, enjoying a stylish galette while drinking cider or wine?
