Take a break with masterpiece pottery "Tosuian''
Here is a spot where you can take a breather at the end of the day. To get there, first walk down the slope next to the main building.
The letters have disappeared, but this wooden sign is a landmark.
If you go through the greenery, you will reach a building that looks like a Japanese restaurant. This is the tea room "Tousuian" where you can have Usu-cha (matcha).
The inside is a full-fledged Japanese-style room. Even those who do not drink tea can freely observe. (*Café is available only at Ryureiseki)
The tea bowls for drinking matcha (powdered green tea) are changed monthly, and you can drink from whichever one you like. Works donated by ceramic artists from Seto, Tokoname, Mino, and other areas, even those that would normally be on display, can actually be used, courtesy of the artists. It is exciting just to choose which tea bowl you would like to use.
This time we had it in this tea bowl. The refreshing matcha tea will help you to quickly erase your tiredness. A cup of tea while gazing at the plants and trees in the garden and the teahouse is definitely a relaxing experience that is hard to find in everyday life. This is a place to visit in every season. You can use only Tosuian.

We were able to enjoy a full day of learning about pottery, visiting a kiln, experiencing pottery making, and drinking tea. The development of pottery and tea culture in the Tokai area is due to the high quality of the soil. Learning in this way made me feel more attached to the land where I live. With such a large volume of exhibits for only 400 yen for adults and free for junior high school students and younger, this is a recommended facility especially for families. How about making it a weekend excursion spot?
