6 Famous Curry Restaurants You Should Visit in Nagoya
Table of Contents
④ Spice curry for dashi lovers
"Spice Curry Akatsutei"
Assortment of 2 kinds (1,188 yen)
Spice Curry Akatsutei is located just a short walk from the Taiko-dori Exit of Nagoya Station. The concept is "spice dishes" that can only be made by Japanese people regardless of genre. The Japanese-style radish and mackerel curry does not have a fishy smell at all.
For lunch, you can choose from three types of curry, ranging from one, two, or three kinds. On this day, I had two kinds of curry, "Radish and Mackerel Curry" and "Sesame Chicken Curry" (1,188 yen). The combination of daikon and mackerel is more outstanding than you can imagine and addictive. The Sesame Chicken Curry is a full-bodied, mellow curry that changes the atmosphere instantly. Both were very tasty.
Other than the standard mackerel curry, the menu changes weekly, so every time I visit there I look forward to it.

⑤ A popular store in Tokyo has moved to Nagoya. South Indian curry specialty restaurant
"Eric South"
Special dinner thali (1,680 yen). Chicken biryani, yogurt raita, 2 curries to choose from, roti, tomato chutney, chicken tikka.
If you want to enjoy delicious curry directly connected to Nagoya Station, we recommend "Eric South," a restaurant specializing in South Indian curry, located at KITTE Nagoya! South Indian curry is what got me hooked on curry. I had always thought of Indian curry as naan curry, so the encounter with South Indian curry came as a shock to me.
In South India, where the vegetarian culture is well-developed, vegetables are used in abundance, and most of the oils are vegetable-based. For a set meal called ``Meals,'' a banana leaf is used as a plate, and soup, rice, stir-fried foods, and multiple spice dishes are all placed on top of it. ERICK SOUTH is where you can enjoy the food culture of South India. In addition to meals, we also have a variety of unusual menu items that you can't find in Nagoya, such as biryani and dosa. This is a restaurant that curry lovers should definitely visit.

⑥ Bar where you can eat curry
"Bar Ka na ta"
Two kinds of Aigake Curry (1050 yen)
The last place I would like to introduce is an 11-minute walk from Exit 4 of Higashibetsuin Subway Station. "Bar Ka na ta" is about a 10-minute walk due south from Exit 2 of Osu Kannon Station.
Lunch is based on the standard menu item, "Bar Ka na ta's Dal Keema Curry (900 yen)," with a lineup of two to three different curries that change daily. The daily curry changes are announced daily via Instagram. Both large and medium servings of rice are free.
During bar time, the counter is lined with obanzai (side dishes) that go well with the drinks, making it a perfect hideaway for adults to enjoy both day and night.
