Epanouir is located Tempaku ward, Nagoya City. It is about a 5-minute walk from Ueda Station on the Tsurumai subway line. As it is located opposite a supermarket, many people visit the shop on a daily basis.
When you step inside the store, you will be fascinated by the world view that looks like a fairy tale. The central table is lined with fresh flowers.

Most of the dried flowers used in the arrangements are made in-house.
Make it extra special for special occasions
We interviewed Mr. Satoru Ito, the representative of Epanouir, about how the store was born and the concept behind it.
– First of all, please tell us how you started the store.
Ito: “Both my wife and I used to work at a flower shop in Tokyo. When I turned 30, we returned to Nagoya, my wife’s hometown, and wanted to open a shop. I have often worked with major companies, but I wanted to propose something a little more tailored to each individual's needs.
I wanted to set up a store in a residential area with an atmosphere, so I searched for various places such as Motoyama and Higashiyama Park area and came across this property. It was just spring, so the row of cherry blossom trees in front of the store was very beautiful. I liked it intuitively. ”
In November 2008, "epanouir" was born.
– Please tell us about the concept of the store.
Ito: "It's an 'extraordinary feeling'. We want to see buying flowers as part of our daily routine, but it's a bit special, isn't it? It's different from vegetables, meat, fish, and other daily necessities. I want it to be a store that can add a special feeling to such a special time.”
The desire for an extraordinary experience is also reflected in the design of the store.
Ito: “The atmosphere inside the store is also very important. When I first started the store, the wall color was green, but I suddenly thought, “I want to make it purple!” I asked the architect to paint it in this color.
Also, my wife and I love to travel, and we've often seen European architecture, so I think we're influenced by that as well. ”
