"FabCafe Nagoya" is located in Hisaya Odori Park. FabCafe is a cafe where digital fabrication machines such as laser cutters and 3D printers are installed so that anyone can freely create things as a place to bring out the creativity of people.

What is "FabCafe"?

FabCafe was established in 2012 in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is a digital manufacturing café that currently has 11 locations in 8 countries around the world.

As a place that draws out people's creativity, it is equipped with digital fabrication machines such as laser cutters and 3D printers so that anyone can freely make things. Another feature of the facility is that it aims to encourage interaction among the people who gather there and form a community.

They actively hold events in a variety of genres, from food, art, biotechnology, and AI to education, and co-create events with companies and organizations.

The interior design was done by Makoto Tanijiri + Ai Yoshida / SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFIC, who have won numerous domestic and international design awards and architectural awards.

The interior of the café, which faces a lush green park, incorporates an abundance of wood to create a sense of unity with the park. The wood used is hardwood from Hida City, Gifu Prefecture. This project challenges the use of hardwoods, a sustainable material that nurtures rich forests, with the power of creativity.

Hida wood is used throughout the cafe, creating a very comfortable atmosphere.
