"Ueno Tenmangu'', a must-visit for students preparing for exams|Chikusa ward

Ueno Tenmangu Shrine, located at Chikusa ward in Nagoya City, is crowded with many students during the examination season. Since the shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, it is believed to bring blessings for success in various examinations and is also called Nagoya Tenjin.

In the precincts, there is a statue of a cow called "Nadeushi", and it is said that stroking the head will make you wiser, and stroking the part of body that is not feeling well will make you feel better.

There is also "Success Prayer Water (200 yen for a 500 ml bottle)," which is unique to Ueno Tenmangu Shrine, where many students visit every year during the examination season to pray for success. This natural water springs from the foothills of Mt. Takaga in Okumino, upstream of the clear Nagara River, and is soft water with a hardness of 29, which means that it is highly absorbed by the body.
