Hello. I'm Rika Ito, a printmaker.

This time, I would like to introduce "Golden Child Cafe", which is located in Nagoya. It takes about 11 minutes on foot from Higashibetsuin on the subway Meijo line, and about 13 minutes on foot from Kanayama station. You can also enjoy the exhibition of creators in the store, and from July to August, Rika Ito and Ryo Kobayashi's "Futari Exhibition" is being held.

It is a white building at the intersection of Mukoda Bridge East.

The shop is under the overpass. There are about 5 parking spaces behind the shop.

The shop has 1st floor and 2nd floor seats, and works are displayed on the walls.

We asked Mr. Ue, the store manager, about the story.

Ito: The shop has a very nice atmosphere. How long has it been in business?

Mr. Ue: It's been 15 years. I have been working as a staff member since then.

Ito: Today's lunchtime is very crowded. Is there such a thing as a COVID-19 effect?

Mr. Ue: Under the direction of Aichi Prefecture, we closed the shop in May and sold to-go menu. We are reopening the shop from June. As a countermeasure against COVID-19, hypochlorous acid is used for partitions, alcohol disinfection, and humidifiers. Also, I consciously open the door to ventilate.

Ito: You can come to the store with peace of mind.

Mr. Ue: We also accept orders through the drive-thru.

Ito: Drive-thru! How can I purchase it?

Mr. Ue: You place an order over the phone, have the customer come to the back of the store, and pick up the item. Payment is accepted in cash or 'pay pay'.

Mr. Ue: Also, the shop was open until 2:30 AM, but now it's shortened until 0:00 AM due to the COVID-19, so please be careful when you come.

ITo: You are open for lunch from 11:00 in the morning. Is reservation possible?

U: Yes, please make a reservation.

Inside the store where you can enjoy exhibitions of creators

Ito: Right now, I will be exhibiting my work, but how long have you been holding this exhibition?

Mr. Ue: I've been doing it ever since the store opened.

Ito: That's interesting. How do you decide who will exhibit?

Mr. Ue: Kondo, one of our staff members, will talk to you at the creators market and introduce you.

Ito: So you've had a lot of connections for a long time.

Ito: The green in the store is also nice.

Mr. Ue: Our affiliated store “Golden Child Garden” is in charge of the greenery of the store.

Ito: When I searched on the navigation system, "Golden Child Garden" came up and I almost made a mistake!

Mr. Ue: Some customers go to Golden Child Garden (located in Shin-sakae) by mistake. The cafe is popularly known as "Golcha", so please search for "Golcha".

Today's daily lunch is this volume for 790 yen! There will also be a drink bar until 14:00! !

The menu of the day was braised pork shoulder loin, marinated potatoes and zucchini. The kakuni is also very hearty, and the marinade is spicy and delicious! I am full.

Next is Golcha's recommendation, shortcake. Surprisingly, customers from Tokyo come to eat after hearing rumors.

Here is everyone's favorite shortcake! It is fluffy. If you like shortcakes, you should definitely try it.

You may be too full after lunch, so you can share it with your friends or eat slowly while chatting.

Rika Ito and Ryo Kobayashi are holding an exhibition in July and August. This is Rika Ito's work on the second floor. The works are exhibited by searching from the atelier for works that are suitable for the cafe. We have selected these items with an eye to what could accompany a meal or a good time.
