Nishi Asahi, a long-established coffee shop that has been loved for over 80 years in Endoji shopping street, was reborn as a cafe restaurant and guest house in 2015. The 2nd floor serves as lodging facilities for visitors from Japan and abroad, while the 1st floor serves as a café/restaurant where you can enjoy the famous "egg sandwich" and original coffee, and is bustling with people every day.

"Nagonoya" is located in Endoji Shopping Street, known as the oldest shopping street in Nagoya. Although it is located in the city center between Nagoya Station and Marunouchi, it retains a retro downtown atmosphere.

The owner says, "I wanted to create a place where people from abroad could stay in Nagoya." Located on the road connecting Nagoya Station and Nagoya Castle, it is the perfect base for your stay in Nagoya.

Inheriting the spirit of the long-established cafe "Nishi Asahi"

Nishi Asahi is a long-established cafe that has been loved for over 80 years in Endoji shopping street. However, it was closed in 2013 due to the previous owner's poor health. Although it once closed, it was revived thanks to the efforts of the current owner, Mr. Tao, and the people involved in the shopping street. In April 2015, it was reborn as a cafe restaurant and guest house.

The first floor is a coffee shop and diner. The long and narrow interior has been renovated into a retro-modern space while retaining its old appearance. The restaurant has about 40 seats, including counter seats and sofas that were once used here.

"Egg sandwich" revived from the voice of the local people

This is a specialty menu item from the days of the coffee shop "Nishi Asahi," which was revived in response to the voices of local residents who said, "If you are going to open the shop in the same place, please bring it back!" The menu was recreated through a trial-and-error process with the signboard that was displayed in the store during the coffee shop days and with people in the shopping arcade who remember the taste from those days.

A two-layered sandwich with a fluffy egg and chopped cucumber. The soft-flavoured egg and crunchy cucumber with mustard mayonnaise are a nice accent. It's a taste you won't forget once you eat it.
