[Hotel Stay Report] "Nikko Style Nagoya" - A Lifestyle Hotel where You Can Enjoy Coffee and Music in Nayabashi

Nikko Style Nagoya opened in August 2020 in Nayabashi, Nagoya. It is the first Japanese branch of the new brand of Okura Nikko Hotels, which has 78 hotels in Japan and abroad. It is a lifestyle hotel with a focus on coffee and music.

The attached Style Kitchen "Cafe&Bar" offers coffee in collaboration with TRUNK COFFEE. Lunch at the restaurant is excellent! The lobby has a DJ booth where events are held, etc. The hotel has become a popular destination not only for tourists but also for locals.

This time, we enjoyed “Nikko Style Nagoya” for two days and one night!

The location is about halfway between Yanagibashi Central Market and Nishikibashi. It is accessible from any station: about a 10-minute walk from Nagoya Station, about a 7-minute walk from Fushimi Station, and about a 4-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station.

Immediately after entering the entrance, there is a space called "Communal Lobby". This space, including the lobby lounge, cafe & bar, and restaurant, can be used by anyone, even if they are not staying at the hotel.

It's an open and very comfortable space!

Style Kitchen "Cafe&Bar" where you can enjoy coffee in collaboration with TRUNK COFFEE

Style Kitchen「Cafe&Bar」

An original coffee cup jointly developed with a Mino-yaki pottery. The ``Aroma Cup'' is shaped like a wine glass and is designed to help you enjoy the aroma and sweetness of coffee.

Also sells drip packs. Recommended as a souvenir!

Since the hotel is particular about coffee, we first went to the Style Kitchen "Cafe & Bar".

Here, you can taste coffee that collaborated with TRUNK COFFEE. TRUNK COFFEE is characterized by its sourness, but to make it easier for everyone to drink, the sourness is slightly reduced, and the hotel's original blend combines two types of specialty coffee. Coffee that can only be tasted here.

Drip machine "POURSTEADY"

Drip machine "POURSTEADY"

They are particular about how to brew coffee.

"POURSTEADY" introduced for the first time in Nagoya. It's an automatic drip machine developed by NASA engineers! It is said that the barista's recipe is programmed and faithfully reproduced. TRUNK COFFEE is supervising the recipe.

At Style Kitchen, you can enjoy afternoon tea and craft beer from Y.MARKET BREWING!

In-house BGM selected so that no one song overlaps 24 hours a day

DJ booth

DJ booth

As a hotel that focuses on music, there is a DJ booth in one corner of the lobby! Full-fledged level used in outdoor festivals and halls. Events are now held once a month.
Please listen to the background music when you enter the hotel.

The background music in the hotel is provided by Kenichiro Nishihara, a DJ who has worked on sound direction for GINZA SIX, etc. The music is selected so that not a single song is played in a 24-hour period. We felt the hospitality of the hotel, which wants guests to enjoy their stay with a fresh feeling no matter how many times they visit.

Next, we went to the hotel space for guests only.

A hotel space filled with the uniqueness of Nagoya

We found more Shachihoko!

In the elevator hall, there is a tapestry of Arimatsu Tie-Dyeing.

After checking in, let's go to our rooms!

There are 3 grades of guest rooms, a total of 191 rooms. Although the size is the same, there are differences in mattress and pillow specifications, amenities, etc.

2nd to 8th floors: Deluxe Floor
9th-10th floors: Deluxe+ Floor
11th to 14th floors: Premier Floor

This time we stayed on the Premier Floor on the 14th floor. Incidentally, the Delux+ Floor is a floor designed for quality sleep, with Airwave mattresses, relaxing herbal tea, and other amenities.

The sign indicating the number of floors is made of Seto ware. The motif is the lily, the flower of Nagoya City.

The rug in the hallway is also inspired by Arimatsu Tie-Dyeing.

The room plate is also made of Seto ware and features Tenmusu ・Miso dengaku, tebasaki, and other Nagoya specialties. This is cute!
