What is Nukumori no Mori?

Nukumori no Mori

Nukumori no Mori was born in 1983. It was founded by Mr. Shigeru Sasaki, an architect from Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Mr. Sasaki himself is involved in the construction as an architect, designer, and carpenter.

Born as the eldest son of a construction company, Mr. Sasaki studied European architecture on his own. At the age of 25 (1983), he established Sasaki Residence, the predecessor of Nukumori Koubou. In 1988, he worked on a country-style French restaurant, opened stores such as general goods shops and galleries, and established his current style. Today, it is famous as a popular spot that attracts many people from Japan and abroad.

On the second floor, there is a Polish pottery shop "Saison Lazur".

The tableware is hand-painted one by one by artisans at kilns scattered around the small town of Boleslawiec in Poland, and all of them are so cute that you will want to hold on to them.

The lovely hand-painted ceramics on these thick, chunky vessels are popular around the world as durable tableware for daily use.

At first glance, the patterns look the same, but upon closer inspection, each one is different. In fact, there are so many different types of patterns that it is said that there are thousands of them. The dark blue base color gives them all a sense of unity, and they are easy to use for both Japanese and Western-style dishes.
