[Nagoya Station] New York Style Pizza "PIZZA STAND YARD."

[Nagoya Station] New York Style Pizza "PIZZA STAND YARD."

In February 2021, "PIZZA STAND YARD." opened in the south area of Nagoya Station. It's the first NY style pizza shop in the Tokai region, so I went for a interview to find out what kind of pizza you can get!

Renovated the Cafe!
Renewed in a Stylish Atmosphere

A building that looks like an office building at first glance is located in a back alley about a 10-minute walk south from Nagoya Station.

On the first floor, there is the "PIZZA STAND YARD." The contrast between the white walls and the black-framed entrance door is stylish, giving it a café-like atmosphere, but that's what it should be. It was originally a cafe, and the shop has been refurbished and renewed.

I thought there was no signboard, but it was quietly put up (top). When it gets dark, the neon signboard on the side of the building also glows.

A pizza box with a logo that looks like it's beyond the glass makes you feel like you're in a foreign country.

Let's go inside the store!

The interior of the store is coordinated in monotone with white walls, tables, and black chairs. It's a long and narrow space, but the impression is that it feels spacious, probably because of the white walls. There are 7 tables for 4 people.

There are 2 counter seats, and this is a counter where 5 people can sit.

The pictures and objects casually displayed here and there add to the atmosphere of the shop.

The front was a white wall, but the back area changed to a bare concrete wall, and if you look closely, you can see the air conditioner and wiring on the ceiling. At first glance, it looks a bit strange, but you can feel the sense of unity in the store, and you'll find the atmosphere of the gallery in the streets of New York.

Super Big Size!
Order your Favorite Pizza from the Showcase

Order your favorite pizza!

If you go straight to the back, you will see pizzas lined up in glass showcases. All the pizzas arranged on the silver tray are quite big!

The size is 50 cm in diameter. Yes, this is exactly NY style pizza. Choose your favorite type of pizza here.

*Currently, sales of the side menu have been discontinued.

There are 6 types of pizza as a standard menu.

Popular menus that often appear are the standard "CHEESE (cheese) / 450 yen (tax included)" and "PEPPERONI (pepperoni) / 500 yen (tax included)". And named after white sauce, "WHITE / 500 yen (tax included)" is also popular, but it was sold out on this day.

<pepperoni 500 yen (tax included)> Simple yet delicious pizza with salami on tomato sauce

I ordered 3 types of pizza this time! First of all, the standard "cheese". Since it is difficult to understand the size if it is a single item, I put a pen aside and compared it. Did you see how big it is?

"Cheese" has no ingredients, just tomato sauce and cheese, just the ultimate in simplicity. Even without the ingredients, the tomato sauce, the richness of the cheese, and the spice accented it, and it had a deep taste, and I ended up eating so fast!

By the way, the NY style dough is thin and crispy. If you look closely at the dough, the tip (center) is thin, and the closer you get to the ear, the thicker it becomes. Also, if it's just this size and has a thick dough like Naples, you might get tired of it halfway through or not be able to eat it all, but this exquisite thickness is just right!

Next is "Caramel Honey / 500 yen (tax included)". Attracted by the name, I ordered it. It's not just sweet, it's a perfect balance of salty and sweet, making it a pizza you can enjoy.

Next is "MONTHRY (Monthly) 500 yen (tax included)", as the name suggests, the pizza changes monthly. This month (March 2021) is a simple pizza with only cheese and ingredients such as onions, shrimp, and olives, but when you eat it, it has a solid flavor. I can't wait to see what kind of pizza it is every month!

Special Craft Beer from Local Nagoya Breweries!

Speaking of pizza, beer goes well with it! From bottled beer to craft beer (local beer), there are various types of beer.

Bottled beer includes Budweiser, Brooklyn Lager, and rare green apple beer. A pizza and a bottle of beer are just picturesque.

The craft beer is from Y.MAERKET BREWING, which has a store in the nearby Yanagibashi Central Wholesale Market. This is the first brewery in Nagoya.

You can also try matching your favorite beer with pizza. In addition, glass wine and highball are also available.

In addition to alcoholic beverages, there are also a variety of soft drinks such as standard cola, ginger ale, pineapple juice, and iced coffee.

And here's a nice little point! It's a carry-on bag. Fashionable, isn't it? Not only can you take it out, but you can also take it home if you ordered a little too much and couldn't eat it.

The pizza is wrapped in aluminum foil to prevent it from getting cold, and a paper plate and wet towel are included. You can enjoy it again by toasting it lightly in the toaster oven when you get home.

PIZZA STAND YARD.

By the way, you can order not only one piece of pizza, but also a whole piece (reservation required / from 3400 yen). In addition, it is usually not possible to make a seat reservation, but it is possible to make a reservation on special days such as birthdays. (Please contact the store for details)
It looks like it's going to be fun to celebrate with everyone around pizza.

Feel free to stop by and enjoy pizza! It was a style of pizza shop that had never been seen before. Please enjoy yourself, such as using it for parties for birthdays!
