About 40 minutes by car from Nagoya, "Handa Sky Science Museum'' is a hands-on science museum where you can enjoy learning about the mysteries of the earth and the universe through experiences such as seeing, touching, and playing.
In addition to the planetarium, the only one of its kind on the Chita Peninsula, visitors can enjoy the exhibition rooms where they can experience the wonders of science, space, and the earth for free. The museum's planetarium has a dome with a diameter of 18m and 240 seats, so you can relax and immerse yourself in a world of dreams under the starry sky.
Especially recommended is the live commentary that introduces the myths associated with the constellations and other fascinating aspects of the stars in an easy-to-understand manner. The commentary includes mini quizzes, which are so exciting that small children get carried away answering them. The regularly changing programs are fun for children and adults alike! In addition, every Thursday "Refresh Planetarium" projects a healing program in the aroma of the planetarium. This may be perfect for adults who want to be healed.
This dome has a stage and a piano, and it can be used as a multi-purpose hall. Events such as concerts and small plays are also held.

There is a free exhibition room on the 1st floor with the theme of "Earth" and the 2nd floor with the theme of "Space" that even small children can play casually. There is also a place where you can move your body and play, so it is also recommended for going out on rainy days!

Next, go to the 2nd floor exhibition room with the theme of "Space". There is also an elevator next to the stairs so that strollers and wheelchairs can go up.
When you go up to the second floor, you will be greeted by a large astronaut panel. The atmosphere is different from the 1st floor, and there are many more mysterious exhibits on display.
"Let's move the starry sky!" When you sit on the inner seat and press the button, the stars drawn inside along with the outer sphere will begin to rotate, allowing you to experience the movement of the constellations.

There are five telescopes, including a 40cm diameter Cassegrain reflector telescope, and you can see various celestial bodies at the rooftop astronomical observatory. Themed "Stargazing gathering" is being held.
If the weather is good on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, no application is required for the "Daytime Star-viewing", and the participation fee is free. The stars seen at noon are also fresh. The star-viewing party is a small group, and the volunteers will carefully support you, so it is recommended for beginners!
The roof opens only during events such as "Hoshimikai", and you can enjoy the starry sky with a full-fledged telescope that you can't easily touch. On this day as well, when they heard the announcement of the "Lunchtime Stargazing Party," the children's eyes lit up with great interest, asking, "Can we see the stars at lunchtime?"
In addition, astronomical telescopes will be installed in each booth for use by each group of participants during the event.
