An interior shop “SOLID FURNITURE STORE Nagoya” opened in June 2019 in Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya. This is a store that sells original furniture made with 100% natural solid wood. SOLID is a brand jointly developed by Miyamoto Furniture and Nagano Interior. There are shops in six locations nationwide: Fukuoka, Toyama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and Gifu.

This time, we will introduce the features of SOLID FURNITURE and recommended products.

The SOLID FURNITURE STORE Nagoya store is located in Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya. About 7 minutes on foot from Meijo Line "Yabacho" station. It is located on the 3rd floor of a building near Yaba Park. Please take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

At SOLID, we take off our shoes before entering the store to experience furniture as if you were at home.

The store is lined with original furniture such as sofas, dining tables, chairs, and TV boards, as well as select items such as lighting, rugs, and miscellaneous goods. It is more volume than I imagined.

There is also a kids' space in the center of the store, making it easy for families to visit.

First, we interviewed store manager Daisuke Miyazaki and sub-manager Tsutomu Ueno about the characteristics of SOLID FURNITURE furniture.

Feature ① 100% natural solid wood

The three main types of wood are walnut, black cherry, and red oak.

Mr. Miyazaki: "The first characteristic is that it is made of 100% natural solid wood. We regard the change over time as a 'taste' and aim to create furniture that can move forward with the times with your family. 100% natural. It is characterized by sticking to solid wood and using solid wood even in places where it should not be used normally.

Oil painting is recommended for painting. I think scars are also filled with family memories. With oil painting, you can maintain it yourself, so we hope you will love it as an original vintage piece of furniture. ”

Feature ② Combination of different materials

Mr. Miyazaki: “The second characteristic is the combination of different materials that seeks the essence. For example, aniline leather is used for leather, and canvas is used for fabric. Also, metals such as brass and Kurokawa iron change over time, just like wood. We use materials that you can enjoy."

For example, "diamond cuts" are applied to the backs of sofas and the legs of chairs. By making them slightly slanted, the expression changes depending on the angle of view, and light and dark appear depending on the light. It takes a lot of time and effort, but these small details lead to a simple design that you will never get tired of.

For example, this part is designed with wood plugs so that as few screws as possible are visible on the surface, and even when viewed 360 degrees, it is impossible to tell where the screws have been assembled. All of SOLID's furniture is simple, but it is also designed with a subtle ingenuity, so be sure to pay attention to these parts as well.
