"Terrace cafe Oribe" reopened in April 2021. Until then, it was a small cafe space selling tableware, but the owner wanted to convey the charm of tableware to more people, so they expanded the cafe and reopened.

Table seats and sofa seats are also available.

The store has an outstanding sense of openness surrounded by large windows. You can see mountains in the distance from the window. The sun shines brightly into the store, making it warm and cheerful. The spacious cafe centered on the sofa seats is also attractive! It is popular not only with the locals, but also with a wide range of female customers from inside and outside the prefecture.

We recommend the outside terrace seats. You can spend your private time here. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom in spring and autumn leaves in autumn.

Terrace seats overlooking the magnificent sky and nature. It seems that you can spend a relaxing time! It was winter at the time of the interview, but the dignified atmosphere and clear sky healed my heart.

Actually, “Terrace cafe Oribe” also has a pet-friendly terrace. This is a terrace seat where pets are OK. Very popular with customers with dogs on holidays! At the time of the interview, it was crowded with customers with dogs. It seems that dog lovers from inside and outside the prefecture are pleased with the uniqueness of the spacious terrace seats.

There is also a dog run space that boasts a vast area outside. Many dogs are playing in the pleasant seasons of spring and autumn.

Discerning Sweets

At Terrace Cafe Oribe, you can enjoy a cafe time with carefully selected Mino-yaki dishes. This is the popular "Matcha Set" (650 yen). The bittersweet matcha flavor matches the Japanese sweets.

This vessel is handmade by the artist. I am fascinated by the calming Japanese design and form.

“Seasonal Dessert (600 yen)” is a dessert on a plate that looks like a cute flower. At the time of the interview, it was a dessert plate of kiln-roasted Kagoshima Beni Haruka with caramel sauce and ice cream. The menu changes according to the season, so you can enjoy the delicious sweets every time you visit.

The popular chocolate churros (600 yen) are stick-type donuts with a crispy outside and a chewy inside. Eating it with vanilla ice cream makes it even more delicious.

In addition, their coffee are also special. Carefully selected coffee beans are ground in the store, so you can also enjoy the freshly ground aroma. Light meals such as a pizza drink set (1,100 yen) and a soup drink set (850 yen) are also available, so it's recommended when you're feeling a bit hungry.

There is also a spacious pottery shop next to "Terrace cafe Oribe". From simple Mino-yaki to unique Mino-yaki, they have a lineup of various vessels by the artists. You can enjoy choosing a vessel here!

There is also a pottery experience section in the back. Based on the concept of "enjoy pottery freely, fun and with peace of mind", they cater to a wide range of people from beginners to advanced students.

You can experience pottery while using potter's wheel, hand forming, and tatara techniques. (For the potter's wheel experience, 3,000 yen for adults/2 pieces)

You can also see the actual process of pottery making by artisans! You can experience the wonder of Mino ware all day long by purchasing Mino ware vessels or experiencing it for yourself!
