Building that Used to be a Design Office
Renovation into an Adult-like Space

Look for the retro building at the corner of the intersection.

The shape of the building is also distinctive.

“Bishu Akatsuki Coffee Roastery” is located at the corner of the Koike 1-chome intersection. Originally a design office, the retro building made of concrete is a landmark. The shop is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of a 3-story building.

The inside of the shop has a calm and mature atmosphere. I feel the commitment to each and every one of the interiors, interiors, and miscellaneous goods.

On the first floor, there is a space for selling drip bags and roasted beans, as well as a shared roaster. There are three counter seats in the cafe space. When using the cafe, it is a prepayment system and you order on the first floor.

On the 2nd floor, there are counter seats by the window and cute retro table and sofa seats. Whether you come by yourself or with friends or family, you'll be able to relax and unwind.

Influenced by His Beloved Father
From Government Worker to a Coffee Master

Mr. Yusuke Nakajima, the friendly owner of Bishu Akatsuki Coffee Roastery.

This time, we talked to Mr. Nakajima, the owner of the shop, who is friendly and talks about everything from the opening of the shop to his commitment to coffee.

– Please tell us how you decided to open the restaurant.

Mr. Nakajima: “I used to work as government worker, but I always wanted to be independent when I was in my 20s. I also admired my father, who ran a woolen company. However, my father passed away at the young age of 46.

When I reached my 40s, just like my late father, I reconsidered my life. I wonder if it's okay to live a life where I can die at any time. I didn't want to regret my life, so I decided to quit my job and start my own business doing coffee, which I had always liked. ”

– Please tell us about the concept of the store and what you are particular about.

Mr. Nakajima: "The main concept is 'a coffee shop for coffee lovers.' We sell beans roasted after asking the level. We also offer a “share roaster” service that rents roasting machines by the hour. In this way, it is a shop that offers three services: cafe, order roasting, and shared roaster. ”

The atmosphere at night is also nice.

Mr. Nakajima: "The second concept is 'a coffee-loving adult's escape.' I would be happy if you could use it as an "escape place" for the scene.

For that reason, we have created an adult-like atmosphere in the store. We are also open at night, so I would like you to enjoy the atmosphere at night, which is different from the daytime. ”

Iced Coffee / Indonesia Mandheling Bircereksi Dark Roast (570 yen)

I'm also happy that the details of the coffee I ordered are attached in a memo.

You can have your home-roasted coffee beans brewed slowly and carefully.

– Please tell us about your commitment to in-house roasting.

Mr. Nakajima:"After all, the freshness of roasting is important for the deliciousness of coffee. It tastes best around a week after roasting. The roasting machine I use in my shop is a small type, so you can roast small amounts at a time. That is why I can handle a lot of beans.

Currently, we purchase and roast 20 types of coffee beans. We are particular about providing a wide range of fresh and delicious beans by in-house roasting. ”

– What is the reason for purchasing 20 types of coffee beans?

Mr. Nakajima: “We want our customers to be able to find beans that they like. In terms of how we sell our roasted beans, we stick to a style called “order roasting,” where customers can choose their favorite beans and degree of roasting. Masu.

For the coffee you enjoy in the store, we are offering recommended beans on a daily basis. And when you order, you can choose the degree of roasting you like from light roast, medium roast, and dark roast.

For those who don't know which one to choose, we will carefully explain. I would be happy if even beginners could learn more about coffee beans and roasting. ”

– I also feel particular about glass tableware.

Ms. Nakajima: “I want people to enjoy delicious coffee in a cup and saucer. Also, for customers who come in groups, we try to brew and serve coffee in different cups as much as possible.”

One of the charms of "Bishu Akatsuki Coffee Roastery" is that you can enjoy glass tableware carefully selected by the owner. There are also special glasses that can be enjoyed only at night. please check it!

You can Make Your Own Coffee
with a Shared Roaster!

Even if you want to roast coffee yourself, roasting machines are expensive and emit smoke. For such people, the share roaster is recommended!

At "Bishu Akatsuki Coffee Roastery", we rent out the "FUJI ROYAL" roaster "COFFEE DISCOVERY", which is actually used at the shop, by the hour. The admission fee is 2,000 yen (no annual fee), and it can be used for 2,800 yen for 2 hours.

It is also a great point that the drink fee will be permanently discounted by 100 yen (excluding morning breakfast hours) as a membership benefit. How about finding your favorite coffee at a shared roaster?

Introducing the Recommended Menu!

Bishu Coffee Akatsuki roastery mainly serves coffee, of course, but they also offer morning breakfast and cafe time services. We asked the owner, Mr. Nakajima, about his recommended menu.

[MORNING] Ogura Butter Toast

Ogura butter toast (drink fee + 110 yen)

This is a delightful morning breakfast service that comes with carefully selected coffee and hearty, thick-sliced toast. It is also a nice point that the amount of coffee that can be enjoyed about 2 cups is provided in a pot.

Toast is homemade. The owner believes that the toast that is eaten every day is good for the body, so he is particular about the ingredients so that he doesn't use too many additives. This time, I tried Ogura butter toast. The thick-sliced toast has a gentle sweetness and a crunchy texture. Excellent compatibility with Ogura butter! It makes me feel happy from the morning.

The coffee is dark roasted from Guatemala Antigua Azotea Farm. It's a coffee with a soft bitterness even though it's rich. Dark roast is less sour and brings out the bitterness.

[CAFE TIME] Walnut caramelized

drink fee only

The shop owner's recommended menu with caramelized sugar and a walnut coating. You can enjoy the sweet and slightly bitter taste of caramel and the crunchy texture of walnuts. It really enhances the flavor of coffee.

Lightly roasted "Ethiopia White Nile" coffee. Very fine taste. It was a refreshing taste that also felt fruity. Lightly roasted coffee has a refreshing acidity.

[CAFE TIME] Chocolate Ganache

Drink fee +140 yen

Soft and smooth raw chocolate has a very rich and satisfying taste. This menu also goes perfectly with coffee.

[SWEETS] coffee jelly

Coffee jelly (600 yen)

Luxurious sweets made with home-roasted coffee and milk fat-rich ice cream. The coffee jelly in the crushed portion of the upper layer is medium-roasted, and the lower layer is dark-roasted. You can enjoy the change of taste. Also, since the jelly uses agar instead of gelatin, it goes down smoothly.

This time, we introduced the “Bishu Akatsuki Coffee Roastery”, which is close to the feelings of coffee lovers. Why don't you find your favorite coffee beans from among 20 kinds of specialty coffee roasted in-house?
