[Tokyo Kagurazaka] I Went to the Private Finnish Sauna "Solo Sauna tune"!

"Solo Sauna tune" is locate in Kagurazaka, Tokyo. This is the first fully private Finnish sauna in Japan.

This is a much talked-about spot where you can enjoy sauna freely in a completely private space without worrying about being seen.
It has also been selected as one of the "SAUNACHELIN 2021".

This time, our sauna-loving Editorial Team staff has experienced the finest revitalization at Solo Sauna tune! (*Reviews are the writer's own opinions.)

*SAUNACHELIN is a national sauna facility on November 11th of each year. Michelin of the sauna world ranking and awarding the top 11 sauna facilities.

Access to "Solo Sauna tune"

3 minutes walk from Kagurazaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. I arrived at "Solo Sauna tune". There is a solo sauna tune reception at the back of the cafe space on the first floor of the hostel "UNPLAN Kagurazaka".

Solo sauna tune requires a reservation, so please make a reservation in advance from the website.

Arrive 5-10 minutes before your reservation time for check-in procedures.

After completing the reception and receiving a basket of skin care items, you will be taken to a private room.

There are two types of rooms: single rooms (3,800 yen for 60 minutes) and group saunas (11,400 yen for 80 minutes / maximum of 3 people, not available for a group with men and women together).

This time I went to a single room type.

Complete sauna experience in one private room

A calm space unified in dark gray

Vihta on the wall

The most important feature of Solo Sauna tune is that changing, sauna room, cool down with cold water, and relaxation are all completed in one private room.
After checking in, you can enjoy a relaxing sauna without seeing anyone.

Each room is equipped with a sauna room, shower room, and rest space.

Towels are also provided in the private room. You can rent an exlusive sauna hat, so you don't have to bring anything.

Often when I am in the sauna, I wonder, "What time did I start?" But since there is a timer installed in the room, you can check the remaining time immediately. This is a nice point!

Finnish sauna where you can enjoy self-loyly

After washing your head and body in the shower, go to the sauna room.

The space is so spacious that it is too luxurious for one person.

Room temperature is around 70℃. The Finnish sauna has a lower temperature and higher humidity than the dry saunas that are common in Japan. It warms your body from deep inside, and you can sweat slowly without feeling suffocated.

The charm of the solo sauna is that you can enjoy the loyly to your liking.

Pour aromatic birch water over the stones of the sauna stove imported from Finland, and a large amount of steam was generated. The scent of aroma spread throughout the sauna, and it was very comfortable.

On the 2m long bench, you can stretch your legs or just lie down and relax. There was also a mat under the bath towel, and it was fluffy and comfortable.

The solo sauna allows you to concentrate on the sauna in a free posture.

Cool down with a 400 caliber overhead shower

After warming up in the sauna, cool down in the overhead shower. A chiller (cooler) keeps the water temperature around 15°C all year round, allowing you to cool down.

At first, I was surprised by the coldness, but strangely my body got used to it.

Relax while feeling the breeze

After cooling down, blow your body well and relax in the armchair.

A circulator is installed on the top of the chair to create a gentle breeze. It feels as if you are taking a bath in the open air. The breeze could be adjusted to your liking with the remote control.

There is also a Bluetooth speaker in the room, so you can spend your time playing your favorite music.

I repeated about 3 sets of sauna, cool down, and rest, and I was completely revitalized.

Powder room for women

The solo sauna tune also has a women-only powder room that can be used free of charge. After the sauna, you can relax and do your hair and make-up.

This is a great point because I often feel like I have to put on makeup during the sauna experience!

Refresh your body and mind in a private space!

This was my first experience with a private sauna room, but I was able to enjoy the sauna at my own pace without worrying about the eyes of others from beginning to end. Personally, I enjoyed the self-launge & lying down to enjoy the sauna, which was a paradise. It would be fun to hold a sauna girls' party in the group room!

Solo sauna tune requires advance reservation from the official website. If you are interested, we recommend checking in advance.
