Japan's largest commercial resort facility "VISON" opened in April 2021 in Taki-cho, Mie Prefecture.
VISON is located on a vast site 24 times the size of Tokyo Dome. It is an unprecedented large-scale commercial complex with a total of 68 stores, including a hotel where visitors can experience the four seasons, one of Japan's largest fresh produce markets, a medicinal herb bath named after the town of Taki, famous for its medicinal herbs, restaurants that make the most of local ingredients, and organic farms.
On June 5th (Saturday), the second area “Honzo area” and “Mokuiku Area” opened. This time I would like to report on the "Honzo area".

We came to VISON!
When coming from the direction of Ise, the smart IC is scheduled to directly connect to the site. This is the first smart IC directly connected to a private facility in Japan.
<Notice from VISON>
"In line with Mie Prefecture's priority measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, we will continue to operate mainly for people in the surrounding areas until June 20 (Sun)."
"Honzo area'' where you can be Healed by the Power of Plants
"Honzo area" centered on bathing facilities with the theme of "healing with the power of plants".
In the "Honzo Area," made possible through joint research between Mie University and Rohto Pharmaceutical, visitors can enjoy 72 kinds of herbal baths throughout the year, formulated based on VISON's original idea of "72 seasons of medicinal herbs".
There are plenty of spots where you can be healed by the power of plants, such as "Wellness Salon by TEUZUSIKI", a salon with a world-class wellness menu, "LeFuro", a mineral mist bath, and "Honzo Research Institute RINNE", a café where you can enjoy tea using herbs!
You can enjoy 72 types of medicinal herbal baths
"Honzoyu"
First, let's go to “Honzoyu”!
Ahead of the museum-like entrance is the Honsoyu shop.
Amenities such as original shampoo are available, centering on the products of chefs such as Chef Tsujiguchi, Chef Kasahara, and Chef Okuda, who are proud of VISON. Perfect for souvenirs!
72 bamboos with a length of 7 to 8m are used in the resting space "Shichijuni-kou-no-ma". It is a Japanese space that makes you want to relax.
There are two types of baths, "Suikyou" and "Koin." The men's and women's baths change depending on the day.
First, go to the "Suikyou"
There are 2 indoor baths and 1 open-air bath. The rich nature of Taki town spreads out in front of the open-air bath. Unfortunately the weather was bad on this day, but if you visit on a sunny day, it looks like it will be very pleasant.
The medicinal herb bath uses seasonal medicinal herbs grown in the facility and in the surrounding medicinal herb fields. You can enjoy 72 types of medicinal herbal baths that change every 5 days throughout the year. The scent was gentle and very soothing.
Next, let's go to "Koin"! It is an open space with plenty of wood.
I decided to go to "LeFuro" through the glass corridor.
Mineral Mist Bath "LeFuro"
Mineral mist bath “LeFuro” is a hot topic in Nishi-Azabu and Kamakura.
By wrapping your whole body in a mist rich in over 30 kinds of high-quality natural minerals, you can refresh your body and mind.
I couldn't take a photo this time because the bathroom is covered in mist, but the temperature is about 40 degrees Celsius, which is lower than a typical sauna. After bathing in mineral mist, relax on the terrace!
Original mineral water to accompany your relaxing time. You can also take in good minerals from the inside of your body.
The taste of this original mineral water changes depending on the condition of the body. I felt a strong sour taste. It seems that there is a lack of phosphoric acid that helps recover from fatigue.
A Salon with World-class Wellness Menus
“Wellness Salon by TEUZUSIKI”
From Mallorca, Spain! "Wellness Salon by TEUZUSIKI" produced by beauty artist Sally Suzuki.
It is a salon that offers menus such as herbal reflexology, menus that use all plants such as flowers, leaves, and roots to make breathing easier, and athlete techniques that support emotional purification.
"Kasa-an Sanpi-ryoron"
An unique arrangement of Mie ingredients
by Masahiro Kasahara
How about some Japanese food after taking a bath?
Mr. Masahiro Kasahara, the owner of "Sanpi-ryoron", which is famous for being the most difficult Japanese restaurant to take reservations in Japan, has created "Kasa-an Sanpi-ryoron". You can enjoy Japanese cuisine with unique arrangements of Mie ingredients.
"Sea bream chazuke set meal" using Ise red sea bream from Mie Prefecture. Speaking of "Sanpi-ryoron", it is a set meal with sea bream chazuke as the main dish. Kasa-an's sesame sauce is a special dipping sauce that has been adapted from a secret recipe that he learned during his training.
Refreshing "Sudachi (citrus sudachi) soba" is also recommended after taking a bath! It is so delicious that you want to drink it up to the last drop.
In the evening menu, you can also enjoy course meals such as "Omakase Course (6,900 yen)" and "Special Course (9,500 yen)".
"Honzo Research Institute" & "rinne"
The “Honzo Research Institute” and “rinne” are located a little down the slope from the Honzoyu building.
The Herbal Research Institute has re-researched herbalism, which originated in Mie Prefecture, to take in the power of nature and the power of plants into the body, using modern perspectives and techniques, and propose various uses for seasonal herbs. It is a facility to
The medicinal herb bath of Honsoyu, which I introduced earlier, is made in this place.
This time, we introduced the "Honzo area". Please try to be healed by the power of plants.

We are already looking forward to the opening of the third phase!
