Program Report
"Bonfire & Plank BBQ"

I'm curious what you can actually learn in the program!

This time, I visited the program of "Bonfire & Plank BBQ".

The lecturer this time is Mr. Goto from "Cedar Works"!

They are proposing a new form of BBQ, “Plank BBQ,” which uses naturally dried cedar from Misugi-cho, Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, and grills the whole cedar wood together.

Wood is generally dried for about a week, but the cedar wood used by Mr. Goto is naturally dried for about half a year. It seems that the ingredients of the tree are very fresh.

You will learn how to start a fire without using matches or lighters.

Start with simple firewood making.

The wood is assembled like a campfire, and the kitchen paper is ignited with a fire starter.

The charcoal caught fire.

Generally speaking, when you think of starting a fire, you blow on it, but in fact, it is not good to send air in the first stage. Wood emits combustible gas from 200°C. That's what makes it burn.

When the charcoal catches fire to some extent, it is covered with charcoal to lock in the temperature.

The fire is now complete! It was very easy to understand because he gave us a very detailed lecture on each process from the principle to the method.

Next, let's try the plank BBQ!

Plank BBQ uses the naturally dried cedar board introduced earlier. Soak the cedar board in water to make it look like a living tree.

Place a cedar board on the net and place the ingredients on the cedar board. Is it really going to work?

After about 15 to 20 minutes, it is grilled! A good smoky scent like smoked spreads. It looks like they are using sauce, but the seasoning is only salt!

I took the opportunity to try it!

It is very juicy because the heat is transmitted through a cedar board instead of an open flame. The gentle scent of cedar is the best match with chicken. This time I used chicken, but it seems that any ingredients such as tomatoes, salmon, and pork belly can be used to make it moist and juicy.

The actual program will take place in the lush forest in front of kiond. If you love outdoors, this program is really recommended!

This time, we introduced "kiond'', a tree and forest experience facility that opened in the 2nd phase area "Honzo area".

In the third phase opening, which will be the grand opening, areas such as accommodation facilities, organic farms, and San Sebastian Street are also scheduled to open.

We are already looking forward to the opening of the third phase!
