Factory tour of "Aoyagi Sohonke," a company that makes Nagoya's most famous confections.

Famous confections that are loved as souvenirs and for the locals in their daily lives.
Finally, we asked about future developments.
Mr. Goto: "Uiro is in high demand as a souvenir of Nagoya, but it is a confectionery that is enjoyed relatively rarely by the locals. We also feel a sense of crisis among young people that the perception of Uiro as a Nagoya specialty may be fading. That is why we would like more local people to enjoy Uiro in the future.
One of these initiatives is a directly managed store with a cafe that opened in KITTE Nagoya in April 2017 and Café Willows, which opened in September 2018. These stores offer store-specific menus and "Hitokuchi Nama Uiro" (a bite-sized raw Uiro). By setting up the café, we hope to encourage local residents to use Aoyagi Sohonke for daily use as well.
In addition, we serve uiro at school lunches at elementary schools in Nagoya City, and collaborate with local university students. In the past, we have developed collaboration products for the Tokyo Girls Collection and “Aoyagi Uiro for Athletes,” which have been eaten by women participating in the women’s marathon. While valuing tradition, we would like to continue to convey the products of Aoyagi Sohonke to many people through various initiatives. ”
“Frog Milk Bath (390 yen)” is a sweet that arranged “Frog Manju”. The combination of strained bean paste and milk shake is exquisite.
Moriyama directly managed store with all lineups
The Moriyama directly-managed store is located right next to the main factory. Here, the entire product lineup is available, including "Hitokuchi Nama Uiro" for daily use.
The "Hitokuchi Nama Uiro" is a gem of a product that is made with ingredients carefully selected by artisans according to the season and the year.
We had a chance to taste it, and it was very delicious, with a soft, chewy texture and an elegant sweetness. We hope you will try it at a store near you!
