Hello. I'm Kanae, a photographer.
For the 4th film walk article, I took a walk with "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.02" in hand!
This time it is the Nagoya International Center area.
"LOVERS NAGOYA" is a Nagoya guide book that was created from the idea of "not a guidebook that lists Nagoya's 'specialties', but a book that summarizes 'favorites'," led by Mr. Kato, the representative of the Great Nagoya Tours Executive Committee, who has been interviewed before.
The area you can walk around is summarized in one book, so it's perfect for a camera walk!
Well, this time, following the third film walk article, I took a walk with a compact film camera called "CANON Autoboy2".
Let's go for a walk!
This day also started from morning breakfast. The first place I headed was "KAKO Hanaguruma Main Store".
It is a coffee shop that I have visited several times even privately.
A 3-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station, a cute wooden door is a landmark.
Kako Hanaguruma Honten is known for its "Chantilly Rouge Special!
The "Chantilly Rouge Special" is a gorgeous looking toast with red bean paste, whipped cream, and homemade jam on buttered toast cut in four. The red bean paste and fresh cream are not too sweet, so you can eat it easily. Homemade jam can be purchased at the store, so you can also enjoy delicious jam toast at home.
With my stomach full, I headed to Yanagibashi Central Market.
The slogan of Yanagibashi Central Market is "100 years with live fish."
For about 100 years, it has supported the kitchens of the Tokai region. The Marunaka Food Center is the centerpiece of this.
There are not only fresh fish shops, but also shops selling meat, dried foods, and restaurants, so it is usually very lively. I went there at the wrong time, just as the morning auction was over and the shops closed... (I wanted to buy various things~)
Next, let's take a detour to Okadaya, which is right outside the Marunaka Food Center.
Information that you can buy canned beer of "Y.MARKET BREWING" here was written in LOVERS NAGOYA vol.02. I wanted to include "Y.MARKET BREWING" in today's walking course, but I couldn't, so I just got beer here.
In addition to the standard products, there were several types of beer.
I bought a classic Yellow Sky Pale Ale and a slightly different Loop Station Red. I'm not a beer fan, but the fruity hops made it very easy to drink!
Head straight for Nagoya Station.
Say hello to Nana-chan doll once.
Is it New Year's mode? She was the seven gods of good fortune this time.
I will return to Kokusai Center station again.
Horikawa, which came into view after passing the station. I used to work at an office nearby, so I used to see Horikawa almost every day. I feel relieved when I look at it.
Walking along the Horikawa River, I arrived at "Minochu".
With all due respect, I was surprised when I arrived because I was not familiar with Minochu. I was excited to see the very magnificent storefront.
When I entered the store through the splendid gate, the tasteful store was very spacious, and several madams were shopping besides me. Here, I bought the signature product "Nobori Yokan". The not-too-sweet yokan that disappeared in my mouth the moment I ate it was exquisite.
Leaving Minochu, I wander around Shikemichi and Endoji shopping street. I remember that the first Camera walk article was about Endoji.
This time, after reading "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.02", I learned that there is a house on Shikamichi where the god of roofs resides.
This is the Roof God.
It was built by common people as a prayer to protect themselves from plague, fire, and other fears, and the worship of a small shrine on the roof is said to be unique to Nagoya.
Pass through Endoji shopping street.
I arrived at "ROWS COFFEE" in a place where I went a little.
Take a short break here. I had the "Irish egg latte". The cinnamon latte was creamy and delicious.
Feeling energized after the break, I went further and arrived at "Tatsuya".
There are lots of sweets inside and outside the store!
There are a lot of nostalgic sweets, and if I had come with my friends, I would have bought a lot of sweets.
The walk is about to end.
Finally, I will go to "Nagono Campus".
But before that, I stop by "Shorodo" to buy souvenirs for the staff who are working on the Nagono Campus.
Unfortunately, Kintsuba was already sold out for that day...
I swear to myself that I will go earlier next time.
The last destination, "Nagono Campus", is located right next to "Shorodo".
I met up with the staff who was working here and was given a tour of the inside.
“Nagono Campus” is an incubation facility with offices and co-working spaces built on the site of the former “Nagono Elementary School”.
The coworking space on the first floor has been renovated with a stylish and playful feel. When I went up to the 2nd and 3rd floors, I was in a familiar school hallway, which gave me a strange feeling.
It was a place that made me feel nostalgic, like I hadn't been to school in a long time.
And so, the voluminous "LOVERS NAGOYA vol. 02" walk came to an end as I returned to Nagoya Station.
Once again, I walked a lot and felt many of Nagoya's charms!
And I had terrible muscle aches the next day. LOL!
There are many places where you can rent "chari chari" around the area you visited in "LOVERS NAGOYA vol.02", so cycling might be a good idea.
