It is a 10-minute drive from "Nagashima Spa Land" and "Jazz Dream Nagashima" in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. " Nabana no Sato" is nationally famous for one of the largest illuminations in Japan, and the "Flower Festival," a spectacular view of flowers blooming on a grand scale each season, is also a sight to behold.

Speaking of Nabana no Sato,
Japan's largest illumination!

The illumination, which is held from mid-October to the end of May every year, has 7 spots such as the standard light tunnel and the main area that attracts people with its magnificent scale.

The 200-meter-long "Tunnel of Light Hana Kairo" was selected as one of the "The breathtaking sights in the world. I want to see before I die." and is a very popular spot. If you look closely at the warm light bulbs, you will see that each one is shaped like a flower, creating a soft glow.

The best way to take a picture is to go inside and be surrounded by light, as the entrance will be backlit.

It is surprising that the theme of the main area, which changes every year, is planned by employees, executives, and all Nagashima! It can be seen from the viewing area in the front row or from the observatory, and the artificial fog and clouds create excitement beyond imagination. There is no doubt that you will be impressed by the world's highest quality and overwhelming scale!

There is also a snack corner on the first floor of the observatory. You can enjoy it slowly while drinking coffee.

Approximately 8m wide and 130m long, the "Water Illumination" expresses the flow of the three Kiso rivers. The beautifully shining river of light changes color gently according to the background music.

"Millennium Garden Hikari no Umi" is just inside the gate. It is the first illumination of the miraculous superb view.

We especially recommend the timing when the illumination season overlaps with the peak season for each season's flowers! The romantic flower and light co-starring is unique to Nabana no Sato.

Seasonal flower events are also a highlight!

The flowers that can be enjoyed everywhere in the village are carefully managed by a professional staff who calculates the flowering time and other factors. Among them, the 10 acre flower garden "Hana Hiroba" is a standard popular spot in "Nabana no Sato" where seasonal flowers such as tulips and nemophila in spring, and cosmos and dahlias in autumn are in full bloom.

"Begonia Garden" is a large greenhouse where plants collected from all over the world are exhibited, including large-flowered begonias in full bloom all year round. The front of the pond with flower petals is a must-see photo spot!

"Island Fuji" overlooking the Nobi Plain

Originally, "Island Fuji" was used as an attraction of "Nagashima Spa Land". When it climbs to about 45m above the ground, it begins to rotate slowly. A specialty of "Nabana no Sato" where you can see the Nobi plains including the city area of Kuwana from the buildings of Nagoya station. If you ride near the entrance, you can see the scenery of the village while going up and down.

Waterside tea lounge "Cafe La Terrace". You can taste "Costa Coffee", the first landing in Mie Prefecture, in a great location.

Also, at the Firefly Festival in early summer, there are seats where you can see the fireflies. It's surprising that the staff in charge of lighting, who are professionals in lighting, also manage the fireflies.

"Local Beer Restaurant Nagashima Beer Garden" is a place where you can enjoy craft beer that sticks to authentic German taste from raw materials to preparation.

There are three types of authentic local beer that uses clear water from the Kiso River, and you can enjoy freshly brewed beer.

Italian restaurant "Mugi" offers pizza, pasta, and fresh seafood, and boasts an authentic stone oven! The open kitchen allows you to see the dough being kneaded.

With the crispy dough freshly baked in a stone oven, five kinds of melted rich cheese, and the sweetness of honey, it is simple but perfectly balanced and you can eat as much as you want.

Shrimp kakiage is a popular dish at "Noodle Cuisine Bashoan". The restaurant's calm interior offers both tables seating and floor seating areas, where you can enjoy a relaxing meal while gazing at the Japanese-style garden.

"Japanese Cuisine Kawasemi" offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can casually enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine おf Hotel Hanamizuki.

The “Mura no Ichi” (village market) is full of products that can only be obtained here, such as sweets and local beer.

The staff recommend eating while walking gourmet "Nabana Ten". Plenty of Nabana is kneaded into it, making it soft and chewy.

There are many kinds of delicious freshly fried “Umaten”.

The name “Illumination was beautiful ¥ 540 (tax included)” seems to be popular as a souvenir.

"Premium white bread 400 yen (tax included)" from "Bread & Cake Studio Ten Two Five", which has been featured on TV and has proven its softness.

Precious olive oil that is carefully hand-picked and squeezed. "100% Nagashima extra virgin olive oil ¥ 3,000 (tax included)".

"Strawberry Fromage ¥ 1,850 (tax included)" using strawberries from Nagashima Farm, which was very popular with the staff.

The sour taste of strawberries is perfect for mascarpone cheese! It was very popular at my house and we ate it all up in no time.

The Flower Market is popular with locals and has a wide selection of ingredients.

The flower market, a newly renovated farmers market in October 2021, offers not only flowers, but a wide variety of fresh local produce and souvenirs as well.

You might be able to find souvenirs that you won't find anywhere else, such as "strawberry juice mixed with milk" made from Nagashima Farm strawberries.

It is recommend that you enter the park during the brightest part of the day, enjoy the seasonal flowers and food, and spend the time until the lights come on during the illumination period to enjoy both the spectacular view of the flowers and the illumination from beginning to end. You can check the crowds on the website, but you will have a relatively smooth and stress-free experience except during the Christmas season. 

The security staff at the parking lot and the staff who pass by in the village each listen to the feedback they hear from visitors and use it as hints for projects that will make them want to come back again and again. There I felt the Nagashima spirit that has been loved for many years.
