"Health" is the base of the restaurant.
Lunch is made with the finest ingredients and includes Amush Tea and Jason Tea!

Uses vegetables directly from farmers that do not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers

<Japanese rice Asagi 1,750 yen tax included *Refill tea and dessert included>

At Ai, they purchase pesticide-free vegetables directly from farmers that do not use chemical fertilizers. Dashi and seasonings are also used for each ingredient and dish. *It may be difficult to purchase depending on the situation.

The dishes themselves are not elaborate, but rather simple home-style cooking. The reason for this is that they want their customers to be able to reproduce these dishes in their daily lives back home with just a few modifications.

<Salted mackerel grilled with salt and rice malt> Goes well with rice with just the right amount of saltiness and umami

<Rice> The slightly yellow color is because it contains turmeric. In addition, it contains water-soluble dietary fiber and vegetable lactic acid bacteria, so you won't feel guilty even if you eat it!

<Clear soup> This clear soup is just a tea called Jason tea with natural salt!

There are two types of Japanese-style meals for lunch. The "Asagi" (1,750 yen including tax) and "Ai" (2,500 yen including tax) (reservations required by the day before) both come with a refillable tea service.

Refill tea is a tea service that allows you to drink as many cups as you like within the time limit. The black tea is a flavored tea called "Amsu trea", which is made from Sri Lankan tea leaves with natural fragrances. It's nice to be able to enjoy 3 or 4 different flavored teas at once with the refill tea!

<Various Amsu tea 750 yen including tax> You can also buy it at the shop

In addition, the recommended tea "Jason Winters Tea (left in the photo)" is a completely pesticide-free herbal tea, and you can eat the tea leaves after drinking. It seems that the tsukudani that was served at lunch earlier was actually made with this Jason's tea leaves. It's a panacea tea when you drink and eat!

The parfait that uses plenty of seasonal fruits is also popular!

After lunch, you must miss sweets, right? Yes, we know that you have a separate appetite, so if you are so inclined, you can change your lunch sweets to parfait (100 yen off the parfait price).

<Standard parfait/lemon parfait 880 yen including tax>

"Lemon Parfait" is always available. Mainly using domestic lemons from Wakayama. It has a refreshing taste and also contains dietary lactic acid bacteria and water-soluble dietary fiber.

<Seasonal Parfait Mango Parfait 1,500 yen including tax>

A mango parfait decorated with plenty of juicy pulp made from local mangoes grown in Chita, Aichi Prefecture. Enjoy the tropical taste!

<Seasonal parfait, peach parfait 1,600 yen including tax>

A seasonal peach parfait using peaches called "Misaka Hakuo" is also available from July! It is topped with large peaches that are cut into large pieces and are juicy and just the right amount of sweetness, making it easy to eat.

* In addition, they plan to offer melons and oranges in August. Check the store for details and period of availability!

Aiming to create a restaurant that fuses tableware, food, and space

Mariko Suzuki, the manager of the store, is actually a ceramic artist. The cafe also has a gallery where she exhibits the beautiful ceramics she creates herself. Most of the plates served at lunch were also made by Mariko.

Her mother is in charge of cooking, and the restaurant is a successful fusion of each family member's strengths.

<Ms. Mariko Suzuki, store manager and pottery artist> Various potteries made by herself are on display.

"I didn't want to just go to college, so through a process of elimination, I ended up with ceramics (laughs)," says Mariko with a carefree smile. "I just enjoy touching the clay and the potter's wheel!" Her eyes sparkle with joy.

After graduating from Tokoname High School's Ceramic Arts Department, she attended Tokoname Tonomori Research Institute for two years, and after experiencing various events such as "Noritake Garden" and overseas exhibitions, opened a shop in March 2020. A year later, she also served as the store manager, running the store together with her mother.

This vessel is characterized by glittering like lame. This is an original blend of glaze containing iron, and the iron crystals reflect light to create this kind of texture. It is unique to handmade that no one piece is the same.

The dishes can be enjoyed with food, and since you can actually purchase them, one of the attractions is that you can touch them and take your time to find your favorites.

<Works by Nobuhiko Oyama>

Also on display are works by Nobuhiko Oyama, a ceramic artist from Tokoname, whose work impressed Mariko so much that she actually used it. She says that the pieces are simple, yet very user-friendly

The casually decorated vessel also becomes a picture ...

Mariko's wonderful tableware will be offered in a completely new form starting in August 2021. The new style will be based on the image of seasonal vegetables and fruits, and the dishes that will be created from them.

For example, in summer, they are thinking of various ideas, such as using cool glass or driftwood to create a space. We look forward to seeing what kind of collaboration of dishes and vessels will be created!

* Prices and menu contents are as of July 2021. There may be changes after August, so please check directly with SNS or the store as needed.

Worked for about 9 years at a publishing company that develops wedding information magazines, beauty products, and food and beverage products. After getting married and retiring, my love for travel increased and I became a freelance writer. Due to a family transfer, I went to Fukuoka and Hiroshima, and currently live in Nagoya. Enjoying and discovering the charms of not only Aichi Prefecture but also the three Tokai prefectures. My specialties are shrines and hot springs, and I also love delicious food. We will deliver "new discoveries" to the "normal" of local people.
