Okazaki's popular bakery "Vapeur" with the fashionable and authentic bread that imaged a public bath.
I love bread so much that I want to travel to various shops in search of delicious bread! Just by chewing on the specialty bread of the shop, you will feel satisfied to the heart.
This time, I will introduce the popular bakery "Vapeur" located near Mutsuna Park in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. It opened on November 12, 2018 as the second branch of the super popular bakery "La Vie du Pain", which is also located in Okazaki city.

5-minute walk from the Aichi Loop Railway "Mutsuna" station. This shop is located about 15 minutes by car from Tomei Expressway "Okazaki IC".
When you visit the store, you will see many breads lined up in a cute showcase. There are always more than 50 varieties! The lineup includes popular bagels, cream buns, deli breads, and white breads, making it hard to decide which one to buy.
I will introduce the charm and popular bread of such "Vapeur"!
The concept is "town public bath"
“The owner loves hot springs and public baths. I got a hint from that and designed it with the image of a public bath. 'Vapeur' means steam in French. The steam of bread, the steam of coffee, The steam of the customers. I wanted to make this place as warm as the steam, so it was born,” says Mr. Morita, the store manager of Vapeur.
There are benches to sit on, and there are signboards. Just looking at it makes you excited and fun.
Inside the store, there are signs of steaming bread, and there are nostalgic signboards, which is exciting.
The tiles under the showcase were also designed with the image of a sento.
Face-to-face sales of more than 50 types of bread
Vapeur offers a wide variety of breads. There are always more than 50 varieties! Cream buns and sandwiches are made in the store and can be enjoyed freshly made.
Unlike the main store, bagels, side dish bread, and cream bread are now available!
All of the breads are made with carefully selected wheat, and the owner blends more than 10 types of wheat carefully selected by the owner himself, so you can enjoy the different flavors and aromas of each bread.
He was particular about "face-to-face sales".
Mr. Morita: “At the main store, the customer picks the bread, but in order to create a warm atmosphere, we have adopted a face-to-face style where you can enjoy conversation with the customer. We can hear your voice directly, so the store has a lot of conversations.”
Which bread should I eat today, which bread do you recommend? A store where you can enjoy various conversations.
I personally like the style of picking bread myself, but I think it's good to buy bread at a face-to-face bakery because I can ask the staff in detail what it tastes like and what's in it.
