There are also rare goshuin stamps limited to the first 50 per day!

Wakeoe Shrine

"Wakeoe Shrine'' is located in a corner of a residential area in Kita Ward, Nagoya City. Although it is a small shrine, the goshuin is what brought it into the limelight. There is no shortage of worshipers from all over the country who come to see the goshuin.

There are always 3 to 5 types of goshuin every month.

Ryujin Goshuin Book/Cover

Ryujin Goshuin Book / Back

I have introduced some of the goshuin, but the goshuin books are also of interest. Of particular interest is the newly introduced goshuin book of the dragon god (photo).

The design was created by a Japanese painter, Masayo Ochiai.

Also, this goshuin book is about twice the size of the normal size. This is because many of Wakeoe Shrine 's goshuin stamps are two-page spreads, so it's nice that the stamps are sized to fit on one page. It can be kept crease-free.

By the way, this Ryujin goshuin book is 3,000 yen per book, but if you pay 2,000 yen separately, you can also get the Ryujin goshuin in the picture! Online application is also available.

Popular for amulets for safe delivery, childbirth, etc,
and "Yakuwari-dama," a rare type of ball that can be thrown to clear away bad luck are also available.

Now, let's introduce some popular amulets in addition to goshuin.

The three types in the upper row are "Happiness amulets". The bottom left is "child birth amulets" and "easy delivery amulet" on the right. All of them are made of lace bags and are very elegant. The bottom two contain the mini talismans that were prayed for and the stones from Mikakiuchi. *500 yen each

*Mikakiuchi: the area around the main shrine where the gods are enshrined

sea bream fortune

sea bream fortune

The "Tai-mikuji" (300 yen per piece) is filled with so many small sea breams that one is tempted to shout, "Great catch! " The cute sea bream contains a fortune slip, and when it is finished, it is hung on a special board in the precincts of the temple. The board itself is like a piece of art.

Yakuwaridama

Yakuwaridama

And a slightly unusual “Yakuwaridama” to ward off evil. Write what you want to cut off on this "Yakuwari ball" written as "yaku"(bad). Human relationships, food, tobacco, gambling, fat, illness, etc... I tried to write it too!

It's "Corona"! I hope that the situation will be settled as soon as possible. And here's what to do with it: ......

Throw it at the "yakuyokeishi" pictured on the left side of the main hall!

I threw with all my might, including my daily stress. The ball hit perfectly and broke into pieces... I felt refreshed so much (laughs).

It seems that it is OK if the broken pieces are left as they are, and they will return to the soil naturally. If you have any thoughts or wishes that you want to cut off, please try it.

Worked for about 9 years at a publishing company that develops wedding information magazines, beauty products, and food and beverage products. After getting married and retiring, my love for travel increased and I became a freelance writer. Due to a family transfer, I went to Fukuoka and Hiroshima, and currently live in Nagoya. Enjoying and discovering the charms of not only Aichi Prefecture but also the three Tokai prefectures. My specialties are shrines and hot springs, and I also love delicious food. We will deliver "new discoveries" to the "normal" of local people.
