This time, we will introduce Yakumen Rakuen, which opened in May 2022 in front of Yagoto Station in Nagoya. You can eat tantanmen noodles produced by Enishi, a Michelin-guided restaurant in Kobe.

The numbness and spiciness are addictive, making it a big hit among ramen lovers. We went there as soon as we could!

Yakumen Rakuen is located a one-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yagoto Station on the Tsurumai and Meijo subway lines. The catchy signboard reads, "Tantanmen ha Nomimono" (Tantanmen noodle is a drink).

There is a ticket vending machine outside the shop, so let's purchase a meal ticket before entering the shop. Because it is a student town, it is often crowded around noon.

The restaurant has 10 seats at the counter. The restaurant has an atmosphere that makes it easy for female customers to come in and enjoy ramen on their own.

Yakumen Rakuen is particular about the amount of spices! About 32 kinds of spices are used, including spices that are also used as ingredients for medicine and Chinese medicine, and when you eat it, you will feel warm from the bottom of your body.

The menu offers a choice of five types of noodles: "Tantanmen," "Rich Tantanmen," "Spice Curry Tantanmen," "Spicy Tantanmen," and "Chicken and white soup Tantanmen.

For first-timers, we recommend the medium-spicy "Tantanmen" and for those who do not like spicy food, the "Chicken and white soup Tantanmen" is recommended. For young people, the "Rich Tantanmen" is popular.

<Menu>
・Tantanmen: 890 yen
・Rich Tantanmen: 970 yen
・Spicy Tantanmen: 970 yen
・Spice Curry Tantanmen: 970 yen
・Chicken and white soup Tantanmen: 890 yen

*As of September 2022

We actually tried it!

First of all, this! "Tantanmen"

We actually tasted the menu!
First, let's start with the most popular "Tantanmen". The spiciness was set to "medium spicy".

There are 6 kinds of carefully selected ingredients on top of the noodles. Stir it all at once. You can choose the spiciness according to your preference. If you want it to be even spicier you can add up to 5 spoons of "Sibikara", which is finely ground Sichuan pepper, morning pepper, green pepper, chili hole, etc., for the same price.

*Miso minced meat made from Kobe pork, sweet Awaji Island onions, mizuna (potherb mustard), cashew nuts, fried onions, and shibazuke pickles to accentuate the flavor.

Is shibazuke delicious? I thought, but this shibazuke was a wonderful accent. Also, sweet raw onions from Awaji Island are a great match. This is an addictive taste.

In addition, the thicker noodles are enhanced by the addition of nut paste here! If you think it is too spicy, you can add warm egg afterwards to soften the spiciness!

After you finish eating the noodles, don't forget the "Dive Meshi 60 yen (students are free)". The rice that you put (dive) into the Tantanmen and mix with ingredients and spices is irresistible.

<Knowledge for eating Tantanmen>

(1) Take a picture within 20 seconds after the bowl is placed on the table.
(2) Mix thoroughly with a spoon and chopsticks
(3) Concentrate on slurping the noodles while savoring the depth and about 32 spices.
(4) If you feel it is too spicy, we recommend topping with an egg to mellow it down.
(5) Enjoy the items on the table to change the taste.
(6) For those who love Pakuchi, add more Pakuchi.
(7) Leave a little sauce and add "dive-meshi" (rice with dives)
(8) Tag #Yagoto Ramen on social networking sites.

If you get tired of the taste, you can enjoy changing the flavor by pouring three kinds of vinegar on the table. Three types of vinegar are available: exotic vinegar, orange vinegar, and dried sardines vinegar, with orange vinegar being the most recommended.

The orange scent gives it a refreshing taste.

・Exotic Vinegar: Vinegar with spices. Change to spicy taste.
・Dried sardines vinegar: Richness is added with dried sardines soup stock.
・Orange vinegar: The scent of orange changes to a refreshing taste.

Recommended for women "Chicken Paitan (white sopu) Tantanmen"

If you want to warm yourself up, or if you don't like spicy food, we recommend the "Toripaitan (Chiken and white soup) Tantanmen". A soup version with thick chicken paitan soup added to the base of tantan noodles.

You can choose from non-spicy.

The thick white chicken broth was entwined with the noodles, and it was very delicious.

A must-try for those who like spicy food! "Spicy Tantanmen"

If you want to eat spicy food anyway, then you must try the "Spicy Tantanmen"! The spiciness and numbness of this addictive dish is sure to satisfy your craving.

We liked the Spicy Tantanmen the most. It is said that many repeat customers order this Spicy Tantanmen.

If you're still unsatisfied, you can add extra spiciness and numbness.
Please try it.

Yakumen Rakuen is a restaurant where you can enjoy not only spicy noodles, but also ultimate homemade noodles made with the finest ingredients. Please be sure to try their specialty, which is not only the title as a Michelin restaurant supervisor.

Once you set foot in this world, you will definitely become addicted to it!
