​Callejera Stand & Garage opened in January 2022, a 1-minute walk from Kanayama Station. There is a "stand" where you can eat authentic tacos and an "event space" with a permanent DJ booth.

The front table is a standing table, and the back is a DJ booth.

The interior of the store is modeled after an American garage.

Callejera Stand & Garage is an open space with a DJ booth, bar counter and some chairs and tables. The entire store is an event space, and pop-up stores and events are sometimes held.

The day of the interview was right in the middle of the "montagne avant-garde" pop-up store, and the entire store was decorated with an outdoor theme!

Inside the domed tent there are chairs to make you feel like you are camping.

The DJ booth is supported by Kiso cypress. It was cut down for thinning on a privately owned mountain and is being reused.

Clothes and miscellaneous goods are also sold in the back space. The atmosphere of Callejera Stand & Garage changes dramatically depending on the event.

"Callejera" is a Spanish word that means city or street, and is used to describe children playing on the street. The interior of the store is designed with the theme of a garage in the suburbs of California, USA. In the United States, there is a large space where people can dance, eat, and do whatever they want in one space.

In the open-air atmosphere of the space, each of you is free to spend your time as you please. You can sit at your favorite seat and savor drinks and tacos, concentrate on listening to music, dance in the empty space, or talk among friends.

There is also a bar counter in one corner of the space

The big appeal is that you can freely design how to use space and time without being bound by the setting of "this store is a place to do ◯◯".

On the other hand, when events are held, famous DJs may come as guests, creating a club-like atmosphere.

Another attraction of Callejera Stand & Garage is the authentic tacos that you will become addicted to once you try them. The recipe is directly inherited from the owner, who trained and managed a restaurant in Mexico for more than 10 years.

3 types of tacos 600 yen for 1, 1,000 yen for 2 (tax included)

Tacos are characterized by tortillas (dough) made from corn and salsa that uses plenty of vegetables. You can choose from 3 types of ingredients: carne asada (pork), poyo asado (chicken), and fried shrimp (shrimp). They are arranged to suit Japanese tastes and accented with coriander. All of them are easy to eat, so they are perfect as snacks with alcohol beverages.

In addition, the tacos are consciously incorporating the colors of the Mexican flag. The bright green, white, and red tricolor will whet your appetite.

Tacos can be ordered from outside the store or taken home.

"Nachos with Cheese & Meat" with minced meat, cheese and salsa on tortilla chips. The richness of the cheese and the umami of the minced meat match perfectly with the light salsa.

A simple Mexican dish of tortilla chips dipped in sauce. You can choose from two types of sauces: light salsa and avocado-based guacamole. Thin tortilla chips have a strong salty taste, so you can keep eating them.

Chicken wings 800 yen (tax included)

Chicken Wings is recommended for those who want to eat a lot of meat. The crispy fried batter has a strong flavor and goes well with the juicy chicken. It's delicious to eat as it is, but if you eat it with butter sauce or chipotle sauce, the taste will change completely.
